Funeral services celebrating the life of Amari Valentino Robinson will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, July 19, 2014, in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria with Reverend Grady Snider officiating. Visitation will be observed from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories, Alexandria. Amari Robinson, 15 days, of Alexandria, passed from this life on Sunday, July 6, 2014, at Lafayette Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Although he was here such a short time, he was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Logan Durbin and Justin Robinson, Sr.; brother, Justin Valentino Robinson, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Kim Canerday and

Funeral services celebrating the life of Maxine Jordan McCartney were held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 12, 2014, in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville, with Dr. Joe L. Sharp officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers honored to serve were her close family and friends. Maxine Jordan McCartney, 89, of Alexandria, was born to Joe and Ella Crawford Jordan on April 29, 1925, in Hineston and passed from this life on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at  Winnfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Maxine was a member of Air Base Road Baptist Church for many years. She was one of seven children and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Putting herself last, she was always willing to love and help others. She will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David “Curley” McCartney; son, Joe McCartney; her parents; granddaughter,

Interment followed at the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Montgomery, LA under the direction of Kramer of Colfax. Visitation was held on Monday, July 7, 2014, at Kramer of Colfax. Family Eulogies & Reflections was followed with a recitation of the Holy Rosary. Cherrie Webster, 82, of Ball, LA, passed from this life with her family and friends to the next, to be with our Heavenly Father on July 4, 2014.

Mr. Haddock Ewell Rutledge, Jr., age 73 of Vivian, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014. Born Monday, November 04, 1940 in Alexandria, Louisiana, he was a member of First Baptist Church of Winnfield, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Shriners and Eastern Star. He was also a veteran of the US Air Force SAC Division. Mr. Rutledge was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish almost as much as he adored his faithful companion puppy, Sophie.
