NSU games broadcast in Winnfield

The  dramatic Northwestern State- Missouri State college football opener last Thursday night at Turpin Stadium is being replayed Tuesday night to Winn Parish Suddenlink cable subscribers. The game replay will be shown at 7 p.m. Tuesday
locally on Suddenlink Channel 8. Winnfield Senior High School alumni Thomas Little and John Shelton are on the Demons’ squad. Little, No. 62, a sophomore offensive guard, graded 86 percent in the game

Tigers begin 2014 season with Jamboree on Friday

The Winnfield Senior High School Tigers kick off their 2014 season with a jamboree against Loyola this Friday. Following a 2013 season that saw the Tigers make it all the way to the state semifinals, Coach Andy Pyles looks at the first game of the
season as a practice swing, a way for the players and coaches to get their feet wet ahead of the regular schedule

Flag Football Registration Underway

Registration for the 2014 Flag Football season began  Monday, August 4 and will continue until Wednesday, September 3. The cost is $40. Boys and girls ages 4-12 are eligible for this exciting program. Don’t’ wait until it is too late. No registrations will be accepted after teams have been picked. Sign your child up today.

Governor’s FourBall held in Winnfield

The weekend of July 25-27 found 96 players competing for the Governor’s Four Ball title at Pine Ridge Country Club in Winnfield. 48 two-man teams descended upon the greens with hopes of having bragging rights for the next year.

Cindy Seaton Dance Academy takes national title

The Cindy Seaton Dance Academy attended the NYLA National Dance Competition in Biloxi, Mississippi in June and returned home national champions. Eight group members competed, and out of 235 members from 14 other dance studios in multiple states, five of them from the area placed in the top 10 dance off
