Invasive Species in Louisiana Water, Woods

There are several invasive species in Louisiana that many of us are familiar with. They would include the Chinese tallow trees, feral hogs, and giant salvinia. According to the Louisiana Wildlife Federation, “Millions of dollars are spent annually in our state to control invasive species and their impact on native species, recreational enjoyment and/or ecological balance.”

Led by Tyler Hight’s top five finish, the Winnfield Tiger cross country team raced to a 7th place finish out of 30 schools represented at the LHSAA 2A State Meet held on the campus of NSU in Natchitoches.
