Tigers Get Sweet Revenge During 7 Game Winning Streak

Article Image Alt Text

The WSHS Tiger baseball team is playing some great baseball, sporting a seven game winning streak, with the momentum growing stronger, with each game.

After going 1 – 2 overall in the UC Tournament down south, the boys have rallied by going 8 – 1 in their last three tournaments. The Tigers have put on a fabulous showing behind fantastic pitching, great defense and hot bats to go 2 -1 overall at the Grant Tournament, 3 – 0 in the WSHS Tournament, and 3 - 0 in the Jena/Caldwell Tournament.

The Tigers are competing against some solid teams, helping them become more confident and tougher with each game. They played with excitement and did not easily back down. They came back with several victories in the 7th inning. Never count them out; they are hungry and having fun as a team.

At the time of this writing, the WSHS baseball team is 10 – 6 overall and ranked 7th in the state.

2018 WSHS Baseball New SeasonNew Dreams

Article Image Alt Text

It’s that time of year again when America’s great past time of baseballs and bats get cranked up to start the 2018 baseball season.

Yes indeed, the smell is in the air – the season has started, the excitement of sitting on hard bleachers freezing or sweating to death while cheering for the WSHS baseball team has arrived.

This young team is hoping to start where the 2017 team finished, where last year’s team make it to the second round of playoffs. The first time in 10 years. The boys hope to keep the momentum going, which last year was sadly halted by a pitch count rule.

Five 'Healthy' Habits Worth Giving Up

(StatePoint) While most weight loss proclamations are well-intentioned, sometimes they look better on paper than in practice, actually doing more harm than good. Here are five so-called “healthy” habits worth giving up on, as well as better solutions.

Habit 1: I’m going to take up permanent residence in the gym. Working out is an important piece of the weight loss puzzle, but moderation is key. Studies suggest that too much exercise can lead to a number of issues like hormonal imbalance, fatigue, insomnia and even depression. Many people also report experiencing a drastic increase in appetite after extreme bouts of physical activity, which can lead to overeating and negate the weight-related benefits. Plus, if you exercise so intensely that you’re injured or sore for days, it will be difficult to sustain this otherwise healthy habit.
