Austin, Deville Speaks at Recent Kiwanis Meeting

Article Image Alt Text
Mike Austin from the Winn Adult Learning Center spoke to the Kiwanis club, Monday, June 12, 2016. The Adult Learning Center is now under the Louisiana Technical College system which has changed some of the ways they operate. They offer HiSet prep, ACT prep and HiSet Testing as well as other prep classes. HiSet (High school equivalency test) has replaced the GED. The HiSet is harder to pass than the GED because it is based on common core and the answer is not as important as how you arrived at it. A person needs a GED or HiSet to get a job or continue their education. There is financial aid available. A HiSet test cost is $120.
