Senior Resource Representative

Matt Sutton, on the left, Senior Resource Representative for Plum Creek in the Winn District visited the Winnfield Rotary Club recently and gave an excellent presentation on Plum Creek’s presence in Louisiana and more specifically Winn Parish. Obviously, the timber industry is probably  our most valuable resource in Winn Parish. The company isamong the largest private landowners in Louisiana with 399,000 acres of forestland in 11 parishes. A good portion of  that is right here in our parish, which is centrally locatedand this is one of the reasons they have just built a new central facility in Joyce. Last year they planted more that 8 million seedlings in our state and they have been certified to meet the Sustainable Forestry Initiative Standard, a comprehensive forestry management program that combines sound business practices and environmental responsibility.  On the right, is Rotarian Ted Wold
