Couple Celebrates 60th Wedding Anniversary

Cooper and Velma Garrard Little celebrate their marriage, held at the Methodist Church on March 6th, 1958. Mr. and Mrs. Little made their home most of their lives at Couley near Saline Lake. Now, they both reside together at Autumn Leaves Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Winnfield, Louisiana.

WKS Celebrates Dr. Seuss

On Thursday, March 1stWinnfield Kindergarten School celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday! After reading the book Green Eggs And Ham, the students enjoyed their own chance to try green eggs and ham. The Winn Parish Library also came to help us celebrate this special day. The students loved the excitement in Mrs. Monique’s voice when she read, Mr. Brown Can Moo. To end the program we sang Happy Birthday to Dr. Seuss.

The Kindergarten classes at WKS got a treat today when Miss Louisiana , Laryssa Bonacquisti, came to visit , show her “super power” of ventriloquism, and use her “super power” to read them a book with her friend Waddles. The boys and girls loved getting to talk with and meet Miss Louisiana.

Dr. Bill Gaddis speaks to Kiwanis Club

Dr. Bill Gaddis, Secretary-Treasurer, of the Winnfield Kiwanis club shared his report of the Kiwanis International Convention that was held in Paris, France in July, 2017. He shared a slide show of pictures taken on the trip and at the convention. He and his wife Jackie also toured Aix en Provence on a side tour with other Kiwanians from around the world.

Kiwanis International is the 3rd largest civic club in the world. There are 106 employees at Kiwanis International headquarters in Indianapolis. There are 17 employees at the Kiwanis Foundation. Fourteen different languages are spoken at the International headquarters.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Lovell III of Winnfield, Mr. and Mrs. Quinton Arnold of Baton Rouge, the late Mrs. Joyce Arnold, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Davies, of Winnfield, Louisiana.
