Standing from left are Calling Committee chairman Pat Kent, secretary Mimi Wold and treasurer and past president Brenda Etheridge. Seated are vice president Becky Brazzell and president Tommy Bankston.

Strong attendance and membership growth are keys to success of any organization and these have been placed atop the list of goals for the Winn Parish Retired Teachers Association as they prepare for the year just beginning.

Although the first meeting for the Retired Teachers is not until Sept. 17 when NSU President Dr. Chris Maggio will speak, the executive board has already met twice to chart a course for the organization under the presidency of Tommy Bankston. Vice president is Becky Brazzell, secretary Mimi Wold, treasurer Brenda Etheridge and Calling Committee chairman Pat Kent.

The group meets monthly during the nine months of the school year. The local Retired Teachers Association has some 60 members with the average meeting attendance of 25. The board feels there are another 45 prospective members so they hope to see membership grow to a total of 90, with average meeting attendance of 50.
