Howard William Pardue

Mr. Howard William Pardue, age 82 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Natchitoches Regional Medical center.

Mr. Pardue was born in Portland Arkansas, November 29, 1937 and was raised in Sikes Louisiana where he attended school. He owned and operated Pardue Wrecker Service which he began in 1969 in Winnfield. He had a real passion for vintage Studebaker vehicles and was a member of the Studebaker International Car Club. He was a member of the South Winnfield Baptist Church.

He was the son of the late Floyd Calvin Pardue and the late Evelyn Fern Willis Pardue. He was also preceded in death by his wife Brenda Austin Pardue, his son Howard William Pardue Jr. and two brothers Bridges Pardue and Floyd Pardue.

Dorothy Jeannette Lisenbea

Dorothy Jeannette Lisenbea was born on December 10, 1940, ~ Picayune, Mississippi, and passed away on September 6, 2020, in Lafayette, LA, after a lengthy illness. She enjoyed music anddancing, meeting new friends, and pets. She held many jobs in her lifetime, but especially enjoyed nursing and caring for the elderly. Prior to her illness, she was a resident of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Jeannette was preceded in death by her parents, C.P. Lisenbea and Dorothy Lisenbea Richards; her sons, Douglas Yelverton, Alfred Flournoy, and William Flournoy; and her brother, Conley Lisenbea, Jr. She is survived by one son, Tony Yelverton and wife Cindy of Shreveport; four granddaughters, Christina, Kalea, Brittany, and Kristie; and two grandsons, William and Zachary. Additionally, she leaves behind two sisters, Merle Hammons and husband Charley, and Andrea Martin and husband Mack, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Ms. Frances Marlene Perot Milner, age 87 of Winnfield, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2020, at Autumn Leaves Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Winnfield.

Ms. Milner was born on August 30, 1933, in Winnfield to the late Arthur Perot and the late Eva Haddox Perot. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Arthur Perot; two sisters, Lucille and Gloria Perot; and her children’s father, Thomas Childress Milner.

Bill Worsham, Jr.

Mr. Bill Worsham, Jr age 66 of Montgomery, Louisiana passed away on Friday, September 11, 2020.

Born Friday, May 14, 1954 in Shreveport, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his parents, William Brian Worsham, Sr. and Betty Sue Hall Worsham; son, Preston Lynn Worsham.

Those left to cherish his memory include his siblings, John Edward Worsham, Julie Ann Herrera and Barbara Kay McGee.

Memorial services were held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 14, 2020 at Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Craig James officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until time of services.

Jimmie Duane Ross was born February 17, 1937 in Winnfield, LA, and passed from this life August 20, 2020 in West Monroe, LA at the age of 83. Jimmie was a man of honor who believed in standing up for what was right and spent his life doing that. He was a man who loved God, his family, and his country. His family was more important than anything else in the world to him. He loved his fur babies who loyally stayed by his side throughout his life. He was a natural born teacher and enjoyed freely sharing his knowledge and wisdom. Jimmie was a successful athlete in high school and won many honors. He was the first in his family to graduate from college and blazed the trail for his younger siblings. He spent a lot of hours helping his daddy, a Foremost milkman, build his business and made many milk deliveries with him. He was a successful businessman, winning many accolades and awards. He truly cared about his clients.

Emily Elizabeth Thomas, age 2, left this Earth to join her Heavenly Father on September 8, 2020.

Emily was born on September 13, 2018, to her loving parents Tori and Darrell Thomas. Her sister, Jewel, and her brother, DJ, were immediately smitten with the newest addition to the family.

Emily Elizabeth was a beautiful, smart, happy and carefree spirit. She left an impression on every life she touched in her short time here on Earth. Everyone who met Emily loved her fiercely. She was always able to put a smile on your face and she loved to laugh.

Emily loved to play with her parents, siblings, grandparents, and cousins. And they loved playing and spending time with her.

Emily was preceded in death by her greatgrandparents, James Roy, Eddie Taylor, Maurie and Billie Ferguson, Chaney Lee Thomas and Josephine White; great-aunt, Debra Hill; great-uncle, Rickey Ferguson.

Annette Prescott Cook

Annette Prescott Cook, age 73 of Dickinson, Texas passed away peacefully on Friday, September 4, 2020.

Born Monday, July 14, 1947 in Winnfield, LA, Annette was a graduate of Texas City High School in Texas City, TX. She then attended and graduated from Business School. Annette made a career working at The University of Texas Medical Branch, Pediatrics Unit in Galveston, Texas from which she worked until her retirement.

Annette was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Michael Ray Cook; granddaughter, Kayla Sue Cook; sister, Jean Nesmith; parents, Wilbur and Eleanor Prescott.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children and grandchildren: son, Robert ‘Trooper’ Cook of Crosby, TX and grandchildren, Tamara

Myrtle P. Mellichamp

Mrs. Myrtle P. Mellichamp passed away September 4, 2020 in Greenville, S. C.. Millie was an esteemed artist and her paintings can be found all over the United States.

She was the daughter of Ruth and Henry Pendarvis. She was born on April 15, 1920 in Winn Parish, Louisiana. She is leaving behind one son Robert A. Mellichamp and wife Joan of Houston, Texas and one daughter, Marsha Mellichamp Holton, of Travelers Rest, South Carolina. She also leaves to cherish her memory, two grandchildren, Thomas Mellichamp of Houston, TX. and Amanda Holton Braswell of Greenville, S.C. and her husband Jeff Braswell; four great grandchildren Taylor Holton, Matthew Patch, Austin Braswell and Emily Braswell. She is also survived by her brother Billy Joe Pendarvis and his wife Doris of Georgetown, LA., She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Major Robert Thomas Mellichamp.

Elinor Anne Love Derr

Elinor Anne Love Derr passed away August 28, 2020 at Autumn Leaves Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Winfield, Louisiana, following a brief illness.

Anne Derr was born in Minden, Louisiana on July 24, 1925. Her parents were William Durward Love and Hazel Riser Love.

Anne attended school in Winnfield, Louisiana grades 1 - 6. After the death of her mother, she moved with her father to Kilgore, Texas. She graduated from Kilgore High School in 1942. She attended Kilgore Junior College and was a Kilgore Rangerette. She graduated from Kilgore Junior College in 1944.

After college graduation, Anne was employed as Assistant Clerk for the Gregg County Draft Board during WWII. While working for the Draft Board, she met the love of her life, John Chester Derr. Anne and Chester were married in Kilgore, Texas on August 24, 1946.
