Bro. Kenneth Dale Tarver, age 69 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015. Born Sunday, June 03, 1945 in Winnfield, Louisiana, he was retired from the US Postal Service and was an ordained  Baptist minister with over 42 years of service throughout Winn Parish, most recently at Hurricane Grove Baptist Church. Bro. Tarver pastored throughout Winn parish and will be remembered as a devoted and compassionate husband, father, grandfather  and friend to those who knew him. Bro. Tarver was preceded in death by his Mother, Bernice R. Tarver; Brother, Cheston Tarver and Sister, Pat Williamson. Those left to cherish his memory include his Wife, Hazel Snow Tarver, Winnfield;  Daughters, Amy Johnston and husband Tracy, Winnfield, Allyson Fairchild and husband Brad, Searcy, AR and Tracey Morgan and husband John, Quitman; Grandchildren, Andrew & Connor Johnston, Caleb Fairchild, Luke & Libby Morgan.

John Milton Price I

Mr. John Milton Price I, of Natchitoches, LA passed away March 6, 2015 peacefully at his residence. Born December 18, 1942 in Winnfield, LA, he was a  graduate of Calvin High Schooland later, LSU in Baton Rouge.   Post-graduation, he was a history professor at LSU until transferring  to NSU Natchitoches in 1972.’ Mr. Price taught at NSU from  1972 until summer of 2014. He often said he got paid to do hishobby, teach history. He was a much beloved professor who made history come alive for his students. Over the past ten years, Mr. Price also conducted research on Colonel Charles Goodnight of Texas. The three Goodnight volumes are scheduled to begin printing this summer and will be dedicated to Mr. Price. Mr. Price professed Jesus as his savior at age 14 and remained diligent in his Christian faith until his passing.’ He was proceeded in death by his parents L.W.
