Mr. Donald Wayne Shaw, age 65 of Montgomery, Louisiana passed away on Monday, September 21, 2015. Born Thursday, April 20, 1950 in Winnfield, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his Parents, J. T. Shaw, Jr. and Annie Rai Shaw; Wife, Betty Shaw; Step-Daughter, LaToye Lowery Pinder. Mr. Shaw served his country in the US Army and worked in the construction industry. Those left to cherish his memory include his Daughters, Marla Freeman and husband Brad, Ruston and Brandi Hasley and husband Greg, Jonesboro; Step-Son, Dennis Adams and wife Amy, Port Arthur, TX; Grandchildren, Austin Pinder, Naomi Adams, Breyden and Kenden Freeman, John Reagan, Evie, Averi and Brylee Hasley; Sister, Mary Premeaux; Brother, John Shaw; Numerous Nieces and Nephews. Graveside funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 25, 2015 at St. Maurice Cemetery with Rev. Chuck LaCroix officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

William Arnold Pharr

With a mighty struggle and an unwavering faith, William Arnold Pharr, age 76, of Winnfield, LA passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2015. William was a member of First United Methodist Church of Winnfield , LA. He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Juanita Ann Dougan Pharr, his father, Bay Pharr, his mother Annie Mae Pharr, his brother Curtis Pharr and his cousin Arthur Ross Pharr. He is survived by his children, Rhonda Pharr Howell and Kevin Pharr and his wife Amy, his wife Maxine Pharr, and his grandchildren, Lindlay Meagan Howell, Jake William Pharr and Addison Lee Pharr and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister in law Bobbie Pharr Tissue and his best friend for 48 years, brothers by heart Ed McDaniel and his wife Sis McDaniel; stepdaughters, Cheryl Miller, Vickie McManus and Melissa Tilton and their families, as well as a host of friends and relatives. He was a Veteran of the United States Army where he served in Okinawa, Japan.

Carl James Gresham

Mr. Carl James Gresham, age 87 of Atlanta, Louisiana passed away on Monday, September 07, 2015. Born Monday, July 23, 1928 in Midway, Louisiana, he was retired from the Louisiana Dept. of Corrections and was a corporal in the US Army where he served in the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of Atlanta Baptist Church and the Eastern Star Lodge #151 F&AM where he was a 50 year member and also received the Fidelity Award. Mr. Gresham was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Emmett and June Sanders Gresham; sisters, Kay Bedgood, Marie Spikes and Doris Creel; brothers, Clyde Gresham, Murrel (Boo) Gresham Kevitt B. Gresham, and Dale Gresham; son-in-law, Rip Whittington. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Peggi Gresham, Atlanta; daughter, Deborah Gresham Whittington; grandchildren, Raymond Vantroy (Troy) Whittington, Tracy Stewart and Shirley Whittington; great-grandchildren, Wesley, Laeton, Jackson, Grace and Ryder.

Those left to cherish his memory include his father, Tyler Garrett, Winnfield, LA; mother, Lori  hecton, Winnfield, LA; paternal grandparents, Ronald and Kathy Fallis, Dodson, LA; maternal grandfather, Joe Shecton, Winnfield, LA; maternal grandmother, Mary Guidry, Winnfield, LA; half-brothers, Brennan Poisso and Silas Heard; and numerous aunts and uncles. Graveside services were held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 05, 2015 at New Hope Cemetery with Rev. Bill Moore officiating, under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Mr. John Elmer Bedgood, age 78 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015. Born Friday, June 11, 1937 in Goldonna, Louisiana, he was a retired truck driver and served his country in the US Army. Mr. Bedgood was preceded in death by his Parents, Oliver and Betty Bedgood and six siblings. Those left to cherish his memory include his Daughter, Shannon Carpenter, Dodson; Son, Randall Bedgood, Hampton, AR; 7 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren; Siblings, Louella Maines, Jerry Bedgood and Jimmy Ray Bedgood; Numerous nieces and nephews; Special friend, Linda Bryant. Graveside funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 21, 2015 at Goldonna Cemetery. Interment followed under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.
