Mrs. Hazel Theresa Wallett Blake, age 88 of Calvin, Louisiana passed away on Monday, December 7, 2015. Born Sunday, May 29, 1927 in Campti, Louisiana, she was a member of Sanders Chapel United Methodist Church for many years and was a Winn Parish school bus driver and substitute driver and will be remembered as Matriarch of her large family that she dearly loved. Mrs. Blake was preceded in death by her Parents, Edward and Marie Grappe Wallett; Husband, Captain S. Blake; Daughter, Judy Blake Rice; Grandsons, Codey Tyler and Jason Matthew Shively; Sisters, Ceal Brunson, Edris Mitchell and Clotille Pittman; Brothers, Morris Wallett and Ernest Wallett. Those left to cherish her memory include her Children, Lurline Dowden (Bill), Coushatta, Joseph E.

Dovie Rikard

Funeral services for Dovie Deryle Dupree Rikard, 87, of Natchitoches, LA, were held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Officiating was Bro. Perry Anderson assisted by Reverend Frances Hooten. Interment followed in Couley Methodist Cemetery on Highway 84 between Clarence, LA and Winnfield, LA. Mrs. Rikard died peacefully on December 6, 2015 with her two loving daughters and sister by her side. She was born on February, 1928 in Martin, LA. She was an active member of Couley United Methodist Church. Mrs. Rikard was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Jesse Benjamin Rikard, her parents Alvah and Lillias Dupree and one sister, Gloria Anderson. Left to cherish her memory is her daughters, Bennie Deryle Rikard Harsell and Deborah Lyne Rikard Gay, both of Natchitoches. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Scott Dugas and wife Jennifer, of Natchitoches, LA, Bobby Harsell, Jr.

“Tommy” Tinnerello

“Tommy” Tinnerello, 64, of Madison, MS, died at home on December 4, 2015, surrounded by his family. Services will be at St. Paschal’s Catholic Church in West Monroe, LA on Wednesday, December 9th at 2 PM with a celebration of life following at the church. Tommy was born in Winnfield, LA and lived his life full of joy, love and happiness. He was known for many things, mostly his ability to make people laugh. Tommy loved his family deeply and his happiest moments were time spent when he and his wife, Anita were with their children, Tonya and Jeremy, spouses and their four grandchildren. He loved spending time at the duck camp with his brothers, friends and his faithful four-legged hunting partner, Reese. He loved to travel, cook, but most of all, Tommy enjoyed being surrounded by friends and family whether it was for a party, or just a weekend. Tommy was also especially proud of the work he put into Pro-Tech Security, LLC, which he founded with Anita in 1997 in Madison, MS.

Mr. Lonnie Franklin Tucker, age 70 of Sikes, Louisiana passed away on Friday, December 4, 2015. Born Tuesday, November 6, 1945 in Monroe, Louisiana, he was an oil well driller having retired from Omni and was an avid fisherman. Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by his parents, Houston and Lillie Head Tucker; daughter, Deena Tucker; brothers, Tommy, Donald, Ronald, Marcus and Connie Tucker; sisters, Wilma Jordan and Alice Coonce. Those left to cherish his memory include his step-daughter, Cheryl Kay Eager; sister, Debra Simpson (Steve); brother, Rick Tucker (Darlene); special friend and caregiver, Carolyn Lee, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Wallace Ingles and Rev. Danny Green officiating. Interment followed in Friendship Cemetery, in Sikes.

John Pierce Rudd, Jr. “J.P.”

Mr. John Pierce Rudd, Jr. “J.P.” age 84 of Winnfield, Louisiana, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the Willis-Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. J.P. was born in Calvin, Louisiana on January 22, 1931 to the late John Pierce Rudd, Sr, and Gertrude Hodge Rudd and was married to Barbara Yocum Rudd of Calvin, Louisiana for 61 years. He was a Deacon in the Baptist faith and a member of the Welcome Home Baptist Church of Dodson, Louisiana. A lifelong educator, Mr. Rudd graduated with a B.S. in Agriculture from Northeast State University in Mon-roe, Louisiana and a M.S. in Agricultural Science from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Shirley Conley Carson

Mrs. Shirley Conley Carson, age 79 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2015. Mrs. Carson was a native of Goldonna and a member of the Goldonna Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and worked as a florist and then later at various grocery stores in the Shreveport area. She was the daughter of James Isom Conley and Annie Bedgood Conley. Mrs. Carson was also preceded in death by her husband Jack Monroe Carson, two grandsons Jeremy Pitman and Jarrett Pitman as well as five brothers and four sisters. Survivors include her daughter Brenda Burt and husband Norman of Shreveport, daughter Jaquetta Bates of Winnfield, and a son Terry Carson of Keithville, grandchildren Amanda Morgan, Michael Bates, Mickey Bates, Jr., Crissy Jurek, Ashley Adams and Terry Carson, Jr. Mrs. Carson is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren as well as a sister in law and best friend Eloise Haymon of Winnfield and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
