Otis Glen Guin

Mr. Otis Glen Guin, age 97 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Monday, August 17, 2015. Born Thursday, September 13, 1917 in Georgetown, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his father, Albert Guin, mother, Elizabeth McConathy Guin, first wife, Gracie Rosier Guin, and brothers, Robert and James Guin. Mr. Guin served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and was a member of the Sanctuary Sunday School Class. He was retired from the timber industry and was an avid gardener. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Flora “Cricket” Guin, Winnfield, LA; sons, Bobby Guin and wife Kathleen, Randy Guin and wife Jeanette, daughters, Connie Dubois and husband Jerry, Patricia St. Germain and husband Nicholas, grandchildren, Courtney Paul, Brandy Larson, Shannon Dubois, Chris Mondshine; Jennifer Smith and Jonathan Logan; 18 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Lillian Gaspard Grantadams, 82 of Echo, for merly of Winnfield, LA,passed away peace fully in her residence on Thursday, July30, 2015.She is preceded in death byher husband, Lee Grant adams;her parents, Joseph and Irene Gaspard; her brothers, Fosterand Pierson Gaspard; sisters,Daisy Goux, and Viney andVerna Guillot; and those she loved as brother and sisters,Herman and May, Sr., RussellGrantadams and ShirleyMorris. Lillian was an active member of Our Lady of LourdesCatholic Church in Winnfield.She taught Catechism, bakedfor all the meals and took onmany other projects wherever she was needed. Her favorite pastime was fishing and hunting with her husband.

Mrs. Gladys Marie Doherty Buchanan, age 86 of Joyce,Louisiana passed away on Monday, August 10, 2015.Born Thursday, June 20,1929 in Hinton Camp,Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her father, Dan W.Doherty; mother, Ethel Lee Peters Doherty; husband,Arnold Lee “Buck”Buchanan; brother, Verlon Doherty; and son-in-law,Perry Joe Smith.Mrs. Buchanan and her hus-band Buck were life-longmembers of East Winnfiel  Baptist Church. She worked asa telephone operator for 27years. Mrs. Buchanan lovedher church and was MissionsDirector for many years. She taught 3 year old’s SundaySchool Class for 17 years and was a member of the choir Mrs. Buchanan was also a BusMinistry worker for 20 yearsas well as an active member of the Cradle Roll and HomeBound Ministry for 60 plusyears at her church.
