Funeral services for Ola Gibbs Peterson, 101, of West Monroe, LA were held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 10, 2015 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Dr. Mark Fenn officiated. Private family graveside service was held at Yankee Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Winn Parish, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Mrs. Peterson was born to William F. and Emma Walker Gibbs on November 12, 1913 in Winn Parish, which was her home for 89 years, at which time she moved to West Monroe. She passed away at the West Monroe Guest House on September 8, 2015. Mrs. Peterson retired from the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture Forest Service, having worked as a fire tower lookout at Gum Springs, Kisatchie National Forest, for seventeen years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Peterson, Sr., her son William Peterson, her parents, her sister Ezona Blake, and her brothers Arthur and J.D. Gibbs. She is survived by her daughter.

Mrs. Brenda Kay Jones, age 57 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Friday, September 11, 2015. Born Tuesday, April 08, 1958 in Natchitoches, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her Father, Louis Bedgood. Those left to cherish her memory include her Husband, Willis E. Jones, Jr.; Mother, Jewel Goodwin; Children, Marshall Jones, John Paul Jones, Tracy Jones, Elizabeth Freeman (Dewayne) and Stacey Jones (Alicia); Grandchildren, Brittany, Dakota, Bridget, Frankie, Dillion, John, Dannon, Jamie, Landon, Little Willis, Danielle and Summer; Sisters, R.J., Linda, Shirly, Carrie, Judy and Carolyne; Brothers, Roger and Dennis. Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 14, 2015 at Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Verhoef officiating. Interment followed in Jones Cemetery, in Winnfield. Funeral Services for Orlin Lionel Taylor, age 73, of Sikes, LA, were held at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 4, 2015 at the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia, LA with Bro. Laverl Shell and Bro. Wallace Ingles officiating. Interment followed at Hebron Cemetery, Sikes Mr. Taylor was born January 25, 1942 to the union of Otis and Velia Chandler Taylor in Winnfield, LA and he passed from this life September 2, 2015 at his home in Sikes. He served his country in the Navy. He worked as the Assistant Warden at Caldwell Correctional Center. Orlin enjoyed hunting  and fishing but loved spending time with his family. He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Etoile Smith.
