The Winn 4-H Extension Office will be holding a skeet and turkey shoot-out on Saturday, April 12 at the 4-H Shooting Range, located at 8832 Highway 34 in Winnfield. Registration for the shootout will begin at 8:00 a.m. and participants will begin shooting at 9:00 a.m.

In what has become nearly as famous a tradition as Uncle Earl’s Hog Dog Trials, the Winn Chamber of Commerce “Pig Pen” is ready for viewing. Businesses “dress” their pig with a certain theme in hopes of winning a contest given by the chamber every year. The winners of that contest will be announced next week
The March 11 meeting of the Winnfield City Council saw new proposals from contractors, the revisiting of old propositions and the recognition of a longtime public servant. Councilwoman Sarah Junkin provided an update on old condemnations within the city.
