Winnfield Being Judged By L.G.C.F For Cleanest City

In 1958, the Louisiana Garden Club Federation, Inc. was first among members of the National Garden Clubs, Inc. to sponsor a state wide “Cleanest City Contest.” The aim of the contest is to instill civic pride in the individual citizens and thus, improve the appearance of towns and cities. Each year since it’s inception, the competition has become stronger, and the cities and towns have achieved higher and higher standards of cleanliness.

Winnfield has often scored well in the contest and this year is no different. Our fair city won in the District Contest and is now moving on to final judging. The Louisiana Garden Club Federation Cleanest City Contest judges will be returning to Winnfield on May 10th, and by working together, we can earn the title of Cleanest City.
