Winn Parish Names Students of the Year

Article Image Alt Text

Before the regular School Board meeting on February 6, a group of special Winn Parish students and their families assembled in the Media Room of the School Board. Students from each school were nominated from grades 5, 8 and 12, to compete for Student of the Year at their school. The students prepared portfolios about their school experiences, accomplishments, personal activities, and goals for the future. After review by a committee, one student from each of the three grades was selected to represent their school as Student of the Year. Those students’ portfolios were then reviewed by yet another committee, which selected a student from each level to represent our parish as Winn Parish Students of the Year. The three students recognized as Winn Parish Student of the Year for each level will go on to represent our parish on the regional level, and hope to move on to the state level
