Mrs. Connie Lou Alexander DeSoto, age 54 of St. Maurice, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, January 09, 2014. Born Sunday, June 28, 1959 in Winnfield, Louisiana, she was a Licensed Professional Nurse and an avid outdoors enthusiast and an animal lover. Mrs. DeSoto was preceded in death by her Parents, Horace Alfred and Mary Lou Alexander; Brother, Philip “Seed” Alexander. Those left to cherish her memory include her Husband, Billy Joe DeSoto, of St. Maurice; Daughter, Crystal Atkins and husband John, Winnfield; Granddaughter, Chasten Atkins, Winnfield. Memorial services were held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Moreno officiating. James William Thompson

Mr. James William Thompson, age 58 of Dodson, Louisiana passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013. Jimmy is survived by his father, James E. Thompson, mother Sally A. Thompson, brother, Dan Thompson, all living in Bend, Oregon; sister Roxanne Stephens living in Las Vegas Nevada, daughter Tasha Kiger of Salem, Oregon and numerous nieces and nephews and grandchildren. Jimmy loved to hunt and fish, and loved to work. He was a mill manager at Winn Lumber Mill for 4 years and had worked in the lumber industry for 30 years. Mr. Jessie Earl Hall, age 81 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2013. Born Saturday, July 30, 1932 in, Mississippi, he was a retired steamboat captain and served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
