Jimmy Faith Rudd

Jimmy Faith Rudd

Mr. Jimmy Faith Rudd, age 86 of Dodson, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2019.

Born Monday, July 24, 1933 in Calvin, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his parents, John Pierce Rudd, Sr. and Gertrude Hodges Rudd; son, James Thomas Rudd; siblings, Anna Bell Taylor, J.D. Rudd and J.P. Rudd.

Mr. Rudd enjoyed hunting and fishing and worked for many years as a millwright for Willamette Industries. He also enjoyed visiting and telling stories with his friends and family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 62 years, Mona Rhymes Rudd; sons, Joseph Rudd and Tony Rudd; grandchildren, James Rudd, Jackson Rudd and Makennie Rudd; great-granddaughter, Rosalynn Rudd.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Rudd officiating. Interment followed in Bethlehem Cemetery, in Calvin.

Barbara Ann Rawls Spence

Mrs. Barbara Ann Rawls Spence, age 82 of Dodson, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019.

Born Monday, March 15, 1937 in Memphis, Tennessee, she was preceded in death by her parents, Dovie Holland Rawls and Kenneth Rawls; husband, Horace Spence; and brother, Robert Rawls.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Mike Spence (Tonda), Buddy Spence (Robbie), Kenney Spence (Jill) and Melanie Taylor (Greg); seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 16, 2019, at Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and again on Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at Hilltop Community Church in Chatham, from 10:00 AM until time of services.

Kerry Glenn Williams

Mr. Kerry Glenn Williams, age 50 of Dodson, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019.

Born Monday, July 14, 1969 in Urania, Louisiana, he was considered an expert logger, having worked in the woods his entire life. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.

Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Basil Kay Williams and Jimmie Carlotta Underwood Williams; sister-in-law, Wendy Williams; and Teresa “T” Lemoine.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Heather Marie Williams; siblings, Trent Parker (Audery), Jerry Lynn Williams, Randy Dale Williams, Angie Chandler (Tommy), Liz Garner (Teddie Wayne), Linda Williams (Tony) and Tina Williams (Mark); grandchildren, Hayden, Brynnleigh and Graycee as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Alice Faye Hinson Vines

Alice Faye Hinson Vines, born Friday, March 4, 1949, met her Lord on Wednesday, December 4, 2019. She was loved and admired by all who knew her, a perfect example for Christ always.

Mrs. Vines was a longtime member of Hurricane Creek Baptist Church, where she served the Lord in many positions. More recently, she was a member of East Winnfield Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Candace Suzanne Vines; her parents Robert and Marie Hinson; and sister, Elaine Edwards.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Barron Vines; daughters, Melissa Coussan and husband Matthew and Rebekah Johns and husband Robert; grandchildren, Marian, Morgan, Matelyn, and Mason Coussan; brother, David Hinson; sister, Grace Hand; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Charles Ray Litton will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Mars Hill Baptist Church, Atlanta, LA with Reverend Tony Dick and Reverend Craig McCain officiating. Interment will be in Mars Hills Baptist Church Cemetery, Atlanta, Louisiana, under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana.

Mr. Litton, age 65, of Montgomery, LA, entered eternal

rest on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at The Courtyard Hospice Facility in Natchitoches, Louisiana, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Litton, affectionaly called “Paw Paw” was a loving father, grandfather and friend. He loved his family and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Mr. Litton, a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church in Atlanta, was a self-employed paperman and truck driver who loved “Westerns”. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Mrs. Mary L. Thomas, age 96 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019.

Born Monday, January 1, 1923 in Winnfield, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her parents, Fannie Boyd Long and William Morris Long; and her husband, Doyle D. Thomas.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Beverly Thomas Queen and DoyLynn Alexander; 4 Grandchildren, Marisse Brown (Colin), Jeremy Lashley (Jennifer), Michelle Lashley, and Geree Gaar; and 8 Great Grandchildren.

The family received friends on Saturday, December 7, 2019, at The Family Church, from 11:00 AM until time of services.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at The Family Church with Rev. Nathan Newton and Bro. Mark Green officiating. Interment followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Mrs. Marzella Franks, age 96 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Monday, December 2, 2019. Born Thursday, February 22, 1923 in Laurel, Mississippi, she was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Perot; husband, Willie Franks; and numerous brothers and sisters. Mrs. Franks was a past nurse for Dr. McElwee and the Winn Parish Medical Center. She was an avid fisherwoman. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Rev. Robert Franks (Jeanne); sisters, Lessie and Sarah Jones; 2 grandsons; 6 great grandchildren; and 9 great great grandchildren. The family received friends on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at Southern Funeral Home, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Graveside services were held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Bolton-Teagle Cemetery with Rev. Darell Ray Franks officiating. Interment followed in Bolton - Teagle Cemetery, in Winnfield under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ida Adell Durbin, age 85 of Goldonna, Louisiana passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019.

Born Tuesday, October 23, 1934 in Goldonna, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her parents, Ida I. Holman Pierce and Dick Q. Pierce; husband, James Durbin; brother, E. J. Pierce; and sister, Oma Baker.

Mrs. Durbin, “Granny”, loved her children and grandchildren dearly and was a charter member of Gloryway Church.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, James Wright, Jr. (Jeany) and Edward Wright (Helen) grandchildren, Samantha, Toby, Judy, April, and Marybeth; 5 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brother, William Pierce (Katherine); and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family received friends on Sunday, December 8, 2019, at Gloryway Church, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and again on Monday, December 9, 2019, at Gloryway Church, from 10:00 AM until time of services.

Born Friday, June 23, 1950 in Winnfield, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her parents, Betty Stroud and Cleo Austin; husbands, Bruce Pierce and George Cook; and son, Marc Pierce.

Those left to cherish her memory include her granddaughters, Jescey Pierce and Janys Pierce; sister, Diane Bomer; half sister, Lisa James; and a host of step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family received friends on Thursday, December 5, 2019, at Southern Funeral Home, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Clayton Gerald “Jerry” Cook

Clayton Gerald “Jerry” Cook, age 60 of West Monroe, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2019.

Mr. Cook was a former minister of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Winnfield and the Carpenter’s Local #60 Union. He and his wife were owner’s of Cook’s Interior and Design/Insulation.

Born Monday, February 2, 1959 in Shreveport, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his parents, Bonnie Sue Howard Cook and Clayton Gerald Cook, Sr.; son, Jonathon Cook; and brother, Rickey Dan Cook.
