Autrey Earl Jordan Sr.

Mr. Autrey Earl Jordan Sr., age 85 of Winnfield, Louisiana, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Jena Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jena, La after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Jordan was a native of Oxford, Ms., was a retired electrician and plumber, and was Baptist. He was a beloved grandfather who loved to fish and eat ice cream.

He was preceded in death by his parents Prentiss K. Jordan and Nina May Welch Jordan as well as two sisters.

Mr. Jordan leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 62 years Mary Nell McDaniel Jordan, son Autrey Earl “Bubba” Jordan Jr. (Debra), daughters Casanda Lanette Lang and Misti Jordan Kyle (Michael). He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 18 grandchildren and one sister Geraldine Billings.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Jordan were held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Union Cemetery in Joyce, Louisiana under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Dr. Randy Williams, 74, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 following complications from an illness. Per his wishes, a private graveside service was held at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Montgomery, where he was laid to rest with his parents.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Charles Edward “Ed” Crawford, 81, of Winnfield, Louisiana were held at 12:00 PM Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Brothers Dick Debusk and Bobby Bates and Dr. Charles Malone officiating. Interment was at the Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Bobby Desadier

Mr. Bobby Desadier, age 76 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022.

Born Thursday, December 5, 1946 in Clarence, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Shaw; sisters, Jessie Potts, Brenda Ebert, Sue Bryant, and Helen Hayes; and three nephews.

Mr. Desadier was retired from the City of Winnfield and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was also a member of the Butte Tribe of Bayou Bordeaux.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Brad Desadier; siblings, Kathy Spikes, Shirley Brown, and James Allgor; grandson, Cody Ferguson; fur baby, Belle; and several nieces and nephews.

The family received friends on Friday, December 9, 2022, at Southern Funeral Home, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, and again on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Southern Funeral Home, from 11:00 AM until time of services.

Harold Thomas Tarver

Mr. Harold Thomas Tarver, age 90 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022.

Born Tuesday, December 29, 1931 in Winnfield, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his parents, Volena Melton Tarver and Marl Tarver; wife, Margaret Straughan Tarver; siblings, Viola Cole, Julius, Howard, Rudolph “Tootsie”, and James Tarver.

Mr. Tarver was a retired Master Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force. He also was a rural U.S. Mail carrier and worked with the U.S. Forestry Service. He enjoyed his daily “rounds” with Mrs. Margaret and continued them after her death and enjoyed hunting and fishing as well. Mr. Tarver was a member of First Baptist Church of Winnfield, the FBC Prayer Breakfast group, Danny Keyes’ Sunday School Group, and the Lions Club.

Mrs. Nedra Vines, age 76 of Dodson, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022.

Born Tuesday, January 1, 1946 in Chatham, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her mother, Verda Shows Smith; her father, Gebe Smith; her brothers and sisters, Cloteal Jimmerson, Shirley Smith, Eloise Bamburg, Arveal Culpepper, R.H. Smith, and G.B. Smith, Jr.; her husband, Loyd Vines; her grandson, Justin Higgs; her sonin- law, Lonnie Wayne Higgs; and her furbaby, Prissy Vines.

Mrs. Nedra enjoyed playing in her yard, by mowing, tending to her flowers, and fishing in her pond.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Karla Higgs; her grandson, Colin Higgs; her great granddaughter, Ella Higgs; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Lloyd Daniel Fogger, Sr., age 91 of M o n t g o m e r y, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022.

Born Wednesday, December 24, 1930 in Winnfield, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas I. Fogger and Lillie Mae Robinson Fogger; son, Michael Eugene Fogger; and brothers, Atley and Lonnie Fogger.

Mr. Fogger served proudly in combat during the Korean conflict with the US Army. He was a member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church and was a retired truck driver.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 28 years, Judy Fogger; his children, Lloyd Daniel Fogger, Jr. and Judith Fogger Farmer; his step children, Pattie Cloud Skains (Eric) and Pamela Cloud McManus; his granddaughter, Lauren Tiggs; his step-grandchildren, Blake Skains, Hailee Skains, Jacob McManus and Joshua McManus; his stepgreat grandchildren, Paisley Skains and Brycen Otwell; and his brother, Glen Fogger.

Funeral Services for Emma Elizabeth McFarland were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Winnsboro with Father Jason Gootee officiating. Committal service followed in Zion Hill Cemetery in Tannehill, LA. Visitation was held Monday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Dennard First National Funeral Home – Winnsboro, with Rosary at 6:00 p.m.

Mrs. McFarland, age 91, of Winnsboro, formerly of Winnfield died Friday, November 25, 2022, in Glenwood Regional Medical Center.

She was a Brooklyn, New York native, later marrying her military husband and traveled around the world raising four daughters before her husband retired and settled in Winnfield, LA.

Mrs. McFarland later moved to Winnsboro after losing her husband of fifty years.

She was a homemaker, an avid sewer, and the Scrabble champion of her family; she enjoyed spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.

Funeral services for Raymond Carpenter were held Friday, November 4, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Curry officiating. Friends visited with the family Friday November 4, 2022 from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment followed in the Garden of Memories under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Raymond Patrick Carpenter was born on May 12, 1944 in Winnfield, LA to Herman Lee Carpenter and Nellie Flodale Colvin Frantom. He was raised by his stepfather, Luther Louis Frantom. He was a graduate of Winnfield High School in 1964. Raymond’s graduating class was the last class in the old school building. He was a member of Laurel Heights Baptist Church.
