Tommy Ray Crouse

Mr. Tommy Ray Crouse, age 53 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Friday, July 27, 2018. Mr. Crouse was a retired truck driver and was owner/operator of T&D Trucking and was known as “Buttermilk”. He was previously a mill worker and also previously owned Tommy’s Saw Shop as well as a landscaping business. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and as a provider and protector. Born Wednesday, September 16, 1964 in Prescott, Arkansas, he was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy A. Crouse and Carolyn J. Crouse; brother-in-law, Johnny McKinley; niece, Jennifer Culp. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 35 years, Dorothy Bailey Crouse; daughters, Denice Holland (Ray), Elizabeth Crouse, Janette Crouse and April Crouse Barton (Bob); 12 grandchildren; siblings, Jesse Roach, David Richardson, Leon Richardson, Tamara Gennings, Melody Gilbert and Renee Currey Smith.

Martha Lea Dingler Parker

Mrs. Martha Lea Dingler Parker, age 72 of West Monroe, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018. Born Friday, August 31, 1945 in Amityville, New York, she was preceded in death by her mother, Jacqueline Butler and father, Clayton Butler; brothers Bill and Bobby Dingler; and sister Sally Schmitz. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Steven Parker; children, Ed Weaver (Christy), Tommy Weaver (Diane), Clay McIntosh (Pam), and Lea Kerry; grandchildren, Hailey Kerry, Xavier McIntosh, Colston McIntosh, Haily Kerry, Brittany Watson, Tony Watson, Bronwyn Pepper and Layden Farrar; brothers, John Dingler, Jackie and Billy Henderson, and April Powell. Mrs. Parker was devoted to her children and grandchildren and loved her family dearly. She gave of herself to her family without hesitation or second thought and was always there for anyone in need. Charles Ray Little

Mr. Charles Ray Little, age 85 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018. Born Tuesday, September 27, 1932 in Melville, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his parents, Robert William Little, Sr. and Addie Baker Little; brothers, Robert W. Little and Wesley Baker Little; and sister, Bessie Marie Brooks. Mr. Little was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and a member of First Baptist Church of Winnfield. He was a licensed pharmacist and owned and operated Winn Pharmacy for many years. Mr. Little enjoyed hunting, traveling, and woodworking. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 60 years, Melba Bradford Little; sons, “Chip” Little (Susan) and Rob Little (Marianne); grandchildren, Sarah, Thomas, Hunter, Anna, and Eli; brother, Francis Perry Little (Johnnie); sister- in- law, Mary Ann Little; and numerous nieces and nephews. Claudine Godwin Coon

Claudine Godwin Coon was born on May 4, 1925 in Jena, Louisiana, and departed this life on July 18, 2018 at her home in Winnfield, Louisiana after a lengthy illness. Her life was one of quiet but loving Christian service to her family, church and community. Visitation was held on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. with the funeral services on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., all at Laurel Heights Baptist Church, 1001 San Pedro St., Winnfield, La. Reverend Wallace Ingles and Reverend Lee Tilton officiated. Interment followed the service at BoltonTeague Cemetery on Highway 501 in Winn Parish. Claudine was a teacher for several years before her children were born, and dedicated the last 30 years of her work life to Laurel Heights Baptist Church in Winnfield.

Loyd Harry Murphy

Mr. Loyd Harry Murphy, age 79 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away Friday, July 13, 2018 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana. Mr. Murphy was a U.S. Army Veteran of Vietnam. He also served in the U.S. Navy and Air Force. He later was a police officer for several years having served in various police departments in North, Louisiana. Mr. Murphy was preceded in death by grandparents, William H. and Leela Murphy; father, William Murphy, Jr.; and mother, Christine Murphy of Winnfield, LA. Mr. Murphy leaves to cherish his memory his wife Shirley Whatley Murphy, children Susan Batchelor, Steve Murphy, Patrick Murphy, Debbie Watts, Ricky Whatley, Donna Whatley, Jeff Whatley, Greg Whatley and Natalie Whatley. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the First Assembly of God Church in Winnfield on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Shawn Garner officiating.

Mr. Allen Daniel Guilliams, age 29 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018 in Huntington, West Virginia. Daniel was a welder and an 11 year member of Pipeliners Union Local 798. Gloria Brewer

Mrs. Gloria Brewer, age 75 of Winnfield, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018. Mrs. Brewer was a member of First Baptist Church of Winnfield and The Seekers Sunday School Class. She served as the First Baptist Church Daycare Director for many years. Mrs. Brewer taught in the Winn Parish School System for 34 years. Gloria was a member of the Pilot Club and ADK and served as president of both organizations. In her spare time, Gloria was passionate about playing Bridge with her friends. Mrs. Brewer was the founder of the SMILE Program at the Winnfield Kindergarten School and was a graduate of Louisiana Tech and received her Masters Degree plus 30 from Northwestern State University.

Mr. Joe Randolph Stroud, “Bug”, age 78, of Wheeling, Louisiana, joined our Heavenly Father, Creator and Master Builder of all things, on Friday, June 29, 2018. Mr. Stroud was born on November 23, 1939 in Montgomery, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Houston and Muriel Jones Stroud, brother Robert Stroud and sister, Mary Bess Stroud. On November 21, 1970, he married the love of his life, Vondell Henley Stroud, his wife of 47 years. He was blessed with his loving family and is survived by wife, Vondell Stroud, their daughter, Tonya Stroud Adkisson Deynzer, son in law, Joel Deynzer, grandchildren, Joshua Adkisson, Zachary Adkisson, Savanna Matthews, Shelby and Kaylee Deynzer, son, Joseph L Stroud, daughter in law, Dawn Gilcrease Stroud, grandchildren, Hayley Stroud, Gage Lashley, brother Jim Stroud, sister Linda Stroud Starnes Mason, numerous wonderful nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and lastly canine “baby girl” Bella Star Stroud. Joy Parker

Mrs. Joy Parker passed from this life May 28, 2018 at Winn Parish Medical Center. She was a home-maker and native of Winn Parish. Funeral Services were held at Laurel Heights Baptist Church on May 31, 2018 at 10 AM with Rev. Lee Tilton and Rev. Melvin Lawson officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Wheeling Louisiana under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. She was the daughter of the late Leonard Mitchell and the late Gladys Brady Mitchell of Wheeling Louisiana. She was also preceded in death by two brothers Charles and Jerry Mitchell. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband John (Bud) Parker, daughters Cassie Rison and husband Ricky, Joyce Jordan and husband John. One son Gary Parker, six grandchildren John Parker, Chelsea Ford, Tyler Sharp, Justin Parker, Lacey Parker, and Colby Rison, also 7 great grandchildren. Serving as Pallbearers were Sean Ford, Tyler Sharp, John Parker, James Tabor, Billy Dans, and Scott Tilton.

Albert Tracy “Al” Harrel

Mr. Albert Tracy “Al” Harrel, age 59 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018. Born Sunday, March 1, 1959 in Winnfield, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Tracy Harrel. After he graduated from LSU, Al worked for many years at his families’ business, Harrel Builder’s Supply. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Winnfield. Mr. Harrel loved music, was an avid sports collector and accomplished carpenter. He loved all things LSU and Saline Lake. Those left to cherish his memory include his father, Mr. Tracy Lee Harrel; daughter, Christine Harrel; son, Nicholas Harrel; son, Marty Hebert; daughter, Caroline Harrel; daughter, Alison Harrel; 4 grand-children; and brother, Martin Harrel. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield from noon until time of services. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Southern Funeral Home.
