Jessie Earl Hall

Mr. Jessie Earl Hall, age 81 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2013. Born Saturday, July 30, 1932 in, Mississippi, he was a retired steamboat captain and served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Those left to cherish his memory include his friends and caregivers, John and Donna Pickett, Ryan and Katie Pickett, Michael Pickett and his beloved “adopted great-grandkids”, John Michael and Dolcy. Graveside funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 23, 2013 at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.southernfuneralhome.com.

Ivy Creel, Sr. passed away Monday, December 2, 2013, at the age of 96. He was a World War II veteran of the 9th Army, educator, husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather and beloved patriarch of the Creel family. Ivy was born in Joyce, LA, and was a life-long resident of Baton Rouge, LA. Ivy served as a County Agent with the LSU Agriculture Extension Service for approximately 30 years; he has been affectionately remembered by many who participated in 4-H during their school years, as well as farmers whose problems he helped solve. Affectionately known to family and friends as PaPa Creel or Uncle Ivy, many came to know and love him through his online CaringBridge.org site which was developed to post photos and update family/friends on his health.
