Audie Cox Kieffer DuBois

Audie Cox Kieffer DuBois, 83, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2013, with her family by her side in Shreveport, La. She was born June 28, 1930, in Montgomery, Louisiana. In her early years, Ms. Audie was a business owner, an entrepreneur and an avid seamstress. For decades her friends and family were greeted with a warm smile and the smell of home cooked food coming from her kitchen. Up until the time her health declined, you could find her gardening, cooking and sewing. She was a member of Open Door Fellowship Church in Coushatta, Louisiana where she made many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Cox, mother Della Paul Cox, husbands; Jesse Kieffer, L.B. DuBois, and sisters; Nell Cox, Patsy Ann Creamer, Billie Rae Bordelon. Ms. Audie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Brenda Kieffer Dinkins and husband Thurman Dinkins of Coushatta; grandchildren, Kristin Bonner and husband Kimbal Bonner of Houma, Louisiana, Karin Thomisee and husband Derick Thomisee of Montgomery, Louisiana, Jill Morgan-Frost and husband Tim Frost of Dallas, Texas, and Joe Morgan and wife Tiffany Morgan of Natchitoches, Louisiana and 8 greatgrandchildren; sisters, Eva Cox Harris of Austin, Texas, Maxine Cox Jackson of San Antonio, Texas, Bonnie Cox Ferrier and husband Warren Ferrier of Montgomery, Louisiana. A church service was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28 at the Mt. Zion Church in Wheeling, LA with Brother Collin Wimberly officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were handled by Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home.
