Jim Bradford

Jimmy Jasper Bradford, age 81, of George town , Louisiana, passed away November 8, 2021 surrounded by family.

Funeral services were Friday, November 12, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Georgetown Baptist Church, with Rev. Carl Griffith and Rev. JR Lee officiating. Interment ed at Georgetown Cemetery in Georgetown, LA. Visitation was held from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Georgetown Baptist Church.

Jim was born in Rochelle, LA, on August 2, 1940. He graduated from Georgetown High School and Northwestern State University. An educator, he taught at Georgetown High School for over 30 years. In addition to teaching Junior High, Jim also taught night school and helped many get their GED. He was also a long time member of the Georgetown Town

Mrs. Mary Alice Martin McBride, age 82 of Brewton’s Mill, Louisiana passed away on Monday, November 1, 2021.

Born Monday, February 20, 1939 in Winnfield, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her husband, James McBride; parents, J. K. and Aline Kelley Martin; daughter, Alicia Kim Kieffer; brothers, Jimmy Martin and Johnny Martin; niece, Autumn Henderson.

Mrs. McBride was a member of the Antioch Community Church where she and her late husband, James were dedicated church members. She was a devoted homemaker and loved spending time in the kitchen preparing delicious meals. One of her favorite past times was sitting in her recliner watching sports with James. She truly loved God, her family and her community where she resided all of her life.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sheila Kay Franks were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Sanders Chapel United Methodist Church, 4231 Highway 156, Calvin, Louisiana with Reverend James “Jim” Gstohl officiating. Burial followed in the Sanders Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana.

Mrs. Franks entered eternal rest on Monday, November 1, 2021 at her residence in Calvin, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Sheila Franks was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, neighbor and friend. She loved her family, cooking, garage sales and retired as a school bus driver for Winn parish after 25 years. Mrs. Franks will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Sheila Franks was preceded in death by her father, Glen Desadier, mother, Rita Dow and step-father Charles Dow.

Ronald Earl Fallis

Mr. Ronald Earl Fallis, age 76 of Dodson, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021.

Born Friday, December 15, 1944 in Nashville, Arkansas, he was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Fallis and Katie Webb Fallis; wife, Rosemary Fallis: brothers, Bobby Fallis and Tommy Fallis.

Mr. Fallis was a 1962 graduate of Winnfield Senior High School and served in the US Navy from 1962-1966. He was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church and was retired from West Frazier with 41 years of service.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Kathy Johnson Fallis; children, Rhonda Wise (Roger), Robin Abels (Ronnie), Stephen Fallis (Lisa), Brian Morrow, Brandi Carlos (John) and Tyler Garrett; grandchildren, Corey Young, Peyton Rhone, Joshua Young, Alana Canady, Sean Abels, Karlee Abels, Erin Fallis, Luke Fallis, Janna Fallis, Taylor Carlos, Zachary Carlos and Bryce Carlos; as well as six great-grandchildren.

A.C. Busby

Mr. A.C. Busby, age 73 of Sikes, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021.

Born Wednesday, July 28, 1948 in Winnfield, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his parents, Blondell Cockerham Busby and Aaron Clifton Busby, Sr.; son, Phillip Busby; sister, Ann Parker; and nephew, Joey Parker.

Mr. Busby was a member of The Family Church in Winnfield and a 1967 graduate of Winnfield Senior High School. He spent his career in the tire business at Delta Tire in Winnfield and was a friend to everyone who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 44 years, Phyllis Busby; son, Sam Busby; granddaughter, Brianna Busby; sister, Jo Ellen Dunn; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

The family received friends on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Southern Funeral Home, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and again on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at The Family Church, from 4:00 PM until time of services.

Mr. Ronald Willard Taylor, Jr., age 53 of Dodson, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, October 10,2021.

Born Saturday, May 4, 1968 in Natchitoches, Louisiana he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Willard and Mary Taylor of Dodson, Louisiana and Hubert and Laverne Barnhill of Keatchie, Louisiana; his mother-in-law, Annette (Parker) Emanus.

Ronny was an active member of Gloryway Church in Gansville, Louisiana. From an early age he enjoyed working with his hands. He learned to build and work with wood from his grandfathers and uncles, but his passion was working in the electrical field. He honed this skill while working side by side with his dad and later with his son Chase. He was an avid outdoorsman and when he wasn’t working he was fishing and hunting.

Mrs. Cathy Denise Little, age 58 of Dodson, Louisiana was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, after a lengthy illness.

Born Monday, December 31, 1962 in Monroe, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her father, James E. Little.

Cathy was a member of Sikes Baptist Church and was formerly employed by Plum Creek and Sabine State Bank. More recently she was employed at Hodge Bank and Trust Company. Cathy loved her family, her Hodge Bank and Trust Company family, and especially loved her grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping and her dogs.

Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Totsy Parker Gaar; son, Ethan Liles (Monica); grandchildren, Katelyn and Carson; Fur babies, Harry, Charlie, Willie, and Slinky; siblings, James Little (Gayla), Debbie Speed (Nicky), and Robert Johns (Rebekah); and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Florene Jordan Higgs, age 90 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021.

Born Thursday, June 25, 1931 in Zenoria, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Letha Haynes Jordan; husband, Wayne Higgs; son, Lonnie Wayne Higgs; grandson, Justin Higgs.

Mrs. Higgs will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed fishing, cooking and spending time with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Randall Higgs (Shari); grandchildren, Rex Higgs (Jennifer), Kyle Higgs (Ali), Jared Higgs and Colin Higgs; great-grandchildren, Layton Higgs, Haley Higgs, Weston Higgs, Drake Higgs, Kinlee Higgs and Ella Higgs.

Graveside funeral services were held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Jordan Hill Cemetery with Bro. Rayford Chandler officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Adkins, age 88 of Goldonna, Louisiana passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021.

Born Friday, March 10, 1933 in Natchitoches, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her parents, Florence Leggett Hines and John Hines; husband, Huey P. Adkins; niece, Ashley Keen; son-in-law, David Keen; brothers, Noah, Blanchard, Ezell, and John Hines.

Mrs. Adkins was a longtime member of Goldonna Baptist Church and later attended Creston Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Melvin Adkins (Debbie), daughter, Theresa Keen; grandchildren, Chad, April, and Britt; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and 11 nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Sanders Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
