Crosby Adams, Jr.

Mr. Crosby Adams, Jr., age 91 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.

Born Friday, January 30, 1931 in Sikes, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his parents, Frances Neoma Kidd Adams and Crosby Adams, Sr.; sisters, Maurice Brister and Reba Gates; and daughter-inlaw, Cheryl Adams.

Mr. Adams retired from Atmos Energy after 33 years of service. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Winnfield. Mr. Adams enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, traveling, and The Green Camp.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 73 years, Laverne Rolen Adams; sons, Delane Adams and Steve Adams (Tammy); sister, Reitha Cannaday (Wayne); grandsons, Chad Adams (Carolee), Chris Adams, and Todd Adams; great grandsons, Taylor Adams (Mary), Jack, Alex, Logan, and Dawson Adams; great granddaughter, Emily Grace Adams; and great great grandsons, Samuel and Charter Adams.

The family received friends on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Southern Funeral Home, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, and again on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at First Baptist Church, from 1:00 PM until time of services.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Keyes, Dr. Jerry Pipes, and Rev. John Holland officiating. Interment followed in Garden of Memories, in Winnfield.

Serving the family as pallbearers were Chad Adams, Chris Adams, Todd Adams, Taylor Adams, Jack Adams, Alex Adams, and Logan Adams. Honorary pallbearers were Emily Grace Adams, Dawson Adams, Harold Tarver, Jim Colvin, and Don Causey.
