Georgia Ann Brewton

Mrs. Georgia Ann Brewton, age 64 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016. Born Monday, May 22, 1951 in Winnfield, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her father, George H. Brewton and mother, Alpha Higgs Brewton. Mrs. Brewton practiced nursing for 38 years and was a member of Hurricane Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, shopping and fishing. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Jr. Jordan (Tara), Shreveport, LA; daughter, Christi Frieu (David), Dodson, LA; son, Matt Jordan (Chasity), Winnfield, LA; sister, Liz Howell, Jonesboro, LA; grandchildren, T-Dave Frieu, Dustin Jordan, Cody Jordan, Gabrielle Frieu, Wyatt Jordan, and Aaron Frieu; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends. Memorial services were held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Hurricane Creek Baptist. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Benjamin Quinton Buckley

Benjamin Quinton Buckley, 35, of Jonesboro passed away Wednesday February 3, 2016 at his residence. He was born November 7, 1980. Benji loved to draw and had a passion for writing poetry in his effort to help others. He is survived by parents, Charles and Toni Buckley; daughter, Madison Buckley; brothers, Billy Buckley, Christopher Buckley, Chuck Buckley and wife Cathy; grandmother, Juanita Barnett; step-grandfather, Bill Connor; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by grandmother, Jeanett Kelly Wages; grandfather, Claude Barnett; grandmother, Marcella Connor; grandfather, Charles Henry Buckley; biological father, Tommy Durbin; biological uncle, John Durbin. Graveside services were held 1:00 pm Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Pine Ridge Cemetery with Bro. Donnie Wise officiating under the direction of Southern Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

Randy Alfred LeGrande

Randy Alfred LeGrande went to be with his Lord on February 4, 2016. He passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where he had resided for several years. Born December 18, 1952 in Jena, Louisiana, Randy was the second of two children born to John “Jack” Alfred LeGrande and Mary Maxine Carrier LeGrande of Jena. Randy was a 1970 Graduate of Jena High School and attended Northeast Louisiana University (now ULM) in Monroe, LA. Randy served our country for six years in the Louisiana National Guard. After attending NLU, Randy pursued a career in oilfield chemicals and oilfield safety in various locations in Texas, in the Gulf of Mexico and eventually in Oklahoma City, where most recently he held the position of Regional Manager with Pro-Ject Chemicals. Randy was a devoted Son, Father, Brother and “Pop”. He loved his Lord, good food and his family. He is survived by his wife, Debra, of Oklahoma City; his sister and her husband, Jackie LeGrande Gaddis and Dr.

Steven Thomas Straughan

Mr. Steven Thomas Straughan, age 45 of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2016. Born Saturday, October 31, 1970 in Winnfield, Louisiana, Steve was a 1999 graduate of Northwestern State University where he met his wife, Catherine. He had a passion for his work at Jackson National Life, where he had a splendid career since 2004. Steve developed many friendships there and referred to them as his second family. Everyone who knew Steve knew him to be a big man with an even bigger heart. Mr. Straughan was preceded in death by his Sister, Stacey Gardner. Terry Wayne Bishop

Mr. Terry Wayne Bishop, age 78 of Montgomery, Louisiana passed away on Monday, January 25, 2016. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church and was retired from Union Pacific Railroad. Mr. Bishop was a 1956 graduate of Atlanta High School, after which he served in the National Guard. Mr. Bishop married Betty Lee Carr in 1958 and raised his girls in McGehee, AR for 22 years before moving to Bentley, LA. Mr. Bishop enjoyed hunting, gardening, camping, and fishing. Born Monday, October 11, 1937 in Montgomery, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his father, Ollie Lloyd Bishop; mother, Mary Evelyn Durham Bishop; brother, Norris Bishop; and Betty Carr Bishop.

Roy Lee King

Roy Lee King, age 63 of Winnfield, La. departed from this life on January 13, 2016 at Winn Parish Medical Center in Winnfield. Roy was born on July 2, 1952 in Pineville, La. To James King, Sr. and Mildred King. He was a member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church. He was an avid bike rider and ran ten miles a day, as well as holding down a 9-5 job.

Audre Faye Hatten

Sulphur- Audre Faye Hatten, 83, died Thursday, January 28, 2016, in a local hospital. She was a native of Sikes, Louisiana and had been a resident of Sulphur for over 60 years. Faye was a member of First Baptist Church of Sulphur and was a former member, Sunday school teacher, and choir member of Olivet Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her sons, Bennie Hatten, Jr. and wife, Chiq of Deer Park, Texas and Greg Hatten and wife, Gay of Sulphur; her sister, Udene Sanders of Zwolle; three grandchildren, Steve Hatten and wife, Laurie of Sulphur, Stacey Hatten of Sulphur, and Gabriel “Bear” Hatten and wife, Melinda of Clermont, Florida; and seven great-grandchildren, Tyler Hatten, Daulton Hatten, Jordyn Church, Taylor Church, Brant Lee Fruge, Colton Hatten, and Jaxon Hatten. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bennie H.

Clomer Walton

Mr. Clomer Walton, age 94 of Joyce, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2016. Born Monday, September 12, 1921 in Sikes, Louisiana, Mr. Walton was a decorated WWII veteran having landed on Utah Beach on D-Day. He was retired as a lumber shipping clerk and was also the oldest living member of East Winnfield Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Richard and Mary Thompson Walton; Wife of 68 years, Audrey Sinfield Walton; Siblings, Leroy Walton, Melvina Wilson and Grayson Harper. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Lucille Sharbono; two sons, Sidney Walton and Richard Walton; grandchildren, Matt Walton, Sara Catherine Crossland, Shelley May, Errich Walton; eleven great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild. Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Lamar Carpenter and Rev. Brad Franklin officiating. Interment followed in Garden of Memories in Winnfield.
