Johnathan D. Cofield, 35 years old of Winnfield, Louisiana, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015. He was born on Saturday, July 26, 1980, in Independence. Surviving are his wife, Diamond Cofield; 3 children, Megan E. Cofield, Ramon M. Cofield, and Jade D. Cofield; father, Ramon Cofield of Hammond; mother, Sharon Williams Gagneaux of Livingston; step-father, Michael Gagneaux of Livingston; brother, Nickolas Cofield of Ponchatoula; and 2 nieces, Sharon Marie Cofield and Savannah Renee Cofield. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Haley Jade Cofield; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Williams; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Cofield; and 2 uncles, Robert T. Williams and Ronald Williams. Friends were received Monday, December 28, 2015, from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. Graveside services followed at Jim Williams Cemetery. Donald Gerald Durbin

Mr. Donald Gerald Durbin, age 72 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Friday, December 25, 2015. Born Tuesday, July 6, 1943 in Brewton’s Mill, Louisiana, he was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and will be remembered as a kind, hardworking man who loved his family and community. He was an avid football fan who loved his Winnfield Tigers, LSU Tigers, and New Orleans Saints. Mr. Durbin was preceded in death by his parents, Dammons and Lena George Durbin; sister, Helen Maxwell; brothers, Doyle and Raymond Durbin. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Carol Lawrence Durbin; daughter, Donna Vincent (Chad); sons, Lawrence Durbin, Michael Sanders (Susan) and Justin Durbin (Caitlin); 15 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Marvin Durbin; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

John David Morse, Jr.

Mr. John David Morse, Jr., 87 of Jennings, Louisiana passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015. Born Friday, August 3, 1929 in Winnfield, Louisiana, he was the son of the late John Morse, Sr. and the late Myrtle Upton Morse. He was also predeceased by his wife, Billie Scot Morse, brother, Alton Morse and sister, Camilla McCartney. Surviving are son, John Conley Morse of Jennings, daughters, Pamela Apple (Douglas Kent) of Houston, TX and Sheryll Mann (Leon) of Jennings, brothers, Allen Morse of St. Joseph, and Billy Morse of Pollock, LA. Funeral services were held at 2:30PM on Sunday, December 20, 2015, at Old Union Baptist Church with Rev. Wallace Ingles, officiating. Fabian Arthur Geisman, Jr.

Mr. Fabian Arthur Geisman, Jr., age 71 of Atlanta, Louisiana passed away on Monday, December 21, 2015. Mr. Geisman was born in Monroe, Louisiana and grew up in Winnsboro, Louisiana. He loved spending time with his family, hunting and fishing, but above all he enjoyed grilling for his friends. He worked as a vet assistant at Gowan Veterinary Clinic and later as a production operator for Chevron. Mr. Geisman was a member of the Atlanta Baptist Church. Born Thursday, July 13, 1944, he was preceded in death by his parents, Fabian Arthur Geisman, Sr. and Doxie Dell Payne Geisman. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Jenny Fowler Geisman, Atlanta, LA; son, Hunter Geisman and wife Cami, grandson, Archer Geisman, and grand-dog Daisy all of Baton Rouge, LA; father-in-law, Burk Fowler, Winnfield, LA; sister-in-law, Sandra Bihm and husband of Lafayette, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Roberta A. Remillard

Roberta A. Remillard of Winnfield, formerly of Monroe, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Friday December 18, 2015, at her residence. She was 96 years old. She was born in Eunice, Louisiana, and graduated from Business College in Shreveport, Louisiana. She began a career as a court reporter at Barksdale Air Force Base where she met and married Donald W. Remillard, a young pilot from Massachusetts. She was president of the Officer’s Wives Club, and was instrumental in organizing the Garden Club in her neighborhood. She was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where she was fondly known as “Prayer Warrior”. She participated in Sharing Faith, Women’s Club, and the Evangelistic Team. She will be remembered as an extraordinary spiritual person. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great-grandmother, and friend, always giving love, time, and energy to all. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Gary D.
