Tigers go 1 and 1 to close out district play

The Winnfield Tiger baseball team finished up the district portion of their schedule by squaring off against the Panthers of Sterlington High and the Tigers of Jonesboro- Hodge High. They fell to the #4 (as of April 26) panthers by a score of 17-3. The tigers squandered several opportunities to pull the upset. Whether it was key errors or not being able to drive runners in, the Tigers could not break through.

Two more Tigers sign college commitments

Two more Winnfield Senior High School athletes found themselves signing pieces of paper that would ensure an education for the next four years of their lives. WSHS has already had a few seniors commit to junior colleges this season, and Wednesday, April 16 two students enhanced that roster.

Tigers Start District Season 12

The Winnfield baseball team started their district season this past week against some pretty stiff competition. The Tigers dropped a close one to #4 Oak Grove 6-4, lost to #5 Sterlington 6-0, and defeated longtime rival Jonesboro-Hodge 13-7.
Despite complete game performances from junior Payton Kepper and senior Bayden Sanders, the Tigers were not able to pull the upsets against their top 5 district foes.

WMS Lady Tigers complete softball season

The 2014 Winnfield Middle School Lady Tigers Softball Team completed a season that comprised 30 field appearances. Five games were not played due to weather. The A-Team, which consisted of 9 eighth graders and 2 seventh graders ended the seasons with a record of 11-3 with 3 tie games in tournament play

Lady Tigers top Oak Grove 43 in backandforth affair

The Lady Tigers and Oak Grove traded the lead five times on last Tuesday, but the Lady Tigers ended up on top with a 4-3 District win in eight  innings over Oak Grove. The Tigers finally managed to grab the lead after a strong eighth inning.

After putting up a perfect 5 - 0 record following the first two weeks of the season, the tigers went 3 and 4 over the next three weeks. The losses came to 4A teams North Desoto and Grant, Grace Christian (16-1 record) and Weston High School

AHS falls in semifinals to New Living Word

Karate test involve performance in required levels of training in basics, forms, self defense, sparring and karate terms and history.
