Mrs. Dorothy Iris Reed Butler age 84 of Hemphill, TX., formerly of Enterprise, LA was born on August 6, 1929 in Manito, Illinois. She went to her heavenly reward on January 25, 2014 in Hemphill, Texas. Mrs. Butler is the daughter of the late Ernest and Rachel Reed. She was also preceded in death by four sisters Zella Paris, Mary Rison, Grace Waltz, and Barbara Goehring, three brothers Ben, Dean and Gene Reed. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 66

D’ Juana Rae Gibson of Winnfield, LA passed away in Tallahassee Florida on January 20, 2014 at the age of 75. 
She is survived by 2 children, Robert Michael Chandler (Sandy) of Shreveport, Louisiana and Danna Chandler Hilaman
(Tommy) of Tallahassee, Florida, brothers, Jim Gibson (Dianne) of Natchitoches and Bill Gibson of Winnfield, granddaughters Jana Elizabeth Matt of Tallahassee, Florida and Carrie Giddens of Dallas, Texas and number of nieces, and nephews. Rae enjoyed life to the fullest and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Rae enjoyed people and had a great sense of humor. She loved cooking, crafting, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.

Mr. John Earlie J. E. Rikard

Mr. John Earlie J. E. Rikard went to be with his Lord and his large family in heaven on Wednesday, January 22, 2014.
J. E. was born February 12, 1924 near Winnfield, Louisiana. He is the son of the late James Earlie Rikard and the late Pearl Bice Rikard. He served his country proudly during World War II and received many honors, which he did not talk about. He did talk about the many meals he made for the men as he was a cook. Anyone that knew him for any time surely got a sample of the wonderful rolls he made. He was also a mason for over 50 years. He was a member of Pasadena Lodge No. 1155 AF&AM in Pasadena, Texas. He lived in Pasadena and worked for Shell Oil for over 35 years. It is said that, later when he was in management, he never learned to be a “Boss” because when a job was finished he 
was always dirtier than anyone else. Mr. Rikard loved to square dance and water ski among other things with his

Billy W. Gibson

 

Billy W. Gibson of Winnfield passed away in Winnfield on January 27, 2014 at the age of 72.

Bill is preceded in death by his, parents John C. Gibson, Sr. and Lizzie Engle Gibson, sister D’Juana Rae Gibson Myers and brothers John C. Gibson Jr. and Larry A. (Hoot) Gibson.

He is survived by four children, Mark W. Gibson, Gregg A. Gibson, Tracy L. Gibson Shelby, and Todd Gibson, all of Florida, brother, Jimmy Gibson (Dianne) of Natchitoches, and a number of grand-children.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Way of Grace Baptist Church in Winnfield with the Reverend Donald Douglas officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Way of Grace Baptist Church 107 Dunn Street, Winnfield, LA 71457.
