Mrs. Shirley Joe Campbell Jones, age 80 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2016.Born Friday, January 17, 1936in Franklinton, Louisiana, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Winnfield, and was also an avid quilter and seam-stress. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents, Shelby and Louise Kennedy Campbell; husband, Rodger Jones; daughter, Connie Jones Hightower; and nephew, Terry Burnum. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Jimmy Jones (Heather), Winnfield, LA; grandsons, Matthew David Jones and Jacob Luke Jones; sister, Jackie Pearl; niece and nephew, Susan Price and Steve Burnum. Graveside services were held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Garden of Memories with Rev. Arthur Robinson officiating. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Youth Ministry. Mr. Billy Ray Womack, 88, of Goldonna passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Forest Haven Nursing Home. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II, he was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church. He was a man of many talents, restoring T-Models and A-Models, he loved singing and playing guitar with the Backwoodsmen music group. Funeral services were held 10:00AM Saturday, October 29,2016 at Grace Baptist Church with Bro. Donnie Wise officiating under the direction of Southern Funeral Home, Jonesboro. Internment was in Carolina Cemetery, Saline. Mr. Womack is survived by son, Michael Ray Womack and wife Carol of Goldonna; daughters, Brenda Caskey and husband Stan of Goldonna, Denise Womack of Mayflower, AR; son, Lee Racine and wife Amanda of Dodson; daughter, Jean Racine; god-daughter, Tabitha Westbrook and husband David of Saline; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Sela Mae Quarles.

George Lyndell Stanfill

Mr. George Lyndell Stanfill, age 76 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away November 3, 2016 at his residence. He was a native of Dry Prong, Louisiana and a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Jonesboro. Mr. Stanfill was retired from CASI garment factory where he was a plant manager. In the recent past he was a dispatcher for the Winn Parish Sheriff’s office. Mr. Stanfill was the son of the late George Wright Stanfill and the late Imogene Hughes Stanfill and was also preceded in death by his sister Janice Stanfill Royal. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 50 years Jackie Caner day Stanfill, son Jason Stanfill and his wife Mary Donald Stanfill of San Angelo, TX., daughter Carol Stanfill and husband Eric Vierling of Wilmington, NC, and three grandchildren Trevor, Merideth, and Madison. He is also survived by a brother-in-law Bart Royal of Texas and one nephew Jeremy Royal. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m.

Mrs. Tommie Ciena Wilson Brazzell, age 72 of Winnfield, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria. Mrs. Brazzell was born January 29, 1944 in McNary, Arizona and was the daughter of Thomas J. Wilson and Grace Callender Wilson. She was also preceded in death by two brothers in law, Arthur Roath and George Nation. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Winnfield for many years where she was an active member of the Seekers Sunday School Class. Mrs. Brazzell retired after 30 years from West Frazier in Joyce, Louisiana. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Ronald M.

Arthur Irvin Talton, Jr.

Funeral services for Arthur Irvin Talton, Jr. were scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 29, 2016 at First United Methodist Church of Athens with Rev. Faulk Landrum and Rev. Jason Smith officiating. Burial followed at Oaklawn Memorial Park, Athens. Mr. Talton died suddenly at home Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the age of 91. Art, or “Red” as he was known in the Navy, was born in Winnfield, Louisiana on April 3, 1925 to Arthur Irvin Talton, Sr. and Ama Elizabeth Gaar. He was the youngest of four children. Mr. Talton served in the United States Navy in World War II as a radioman. He proudly wore his honorable discharge pin (Ruptured Duck) as a symbol of his devotion to his country. Mr. Talton retired from many years with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company as an underwriter and spent many years after that woodworking in “Dad T’s” shop. He was a nearly 60 year member of the United Methodist Church in Athens.

Marson Randell Jordan

Mr. Marson Randell Jordan, age 73 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2016. Marson Randell Jordan had worked in several movies before he learned that he could write. Since 1990 Jordan worked in several movies, including Unsolved Mysteries, a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie, and others. Since 1993 he wrote 270 poems and 13 stories. He was a member of the Screen Actors Guild, Mystery Writers of America, the Horror Writers Association, and the Central Louisiana Poetry Society. He had a degree from Northwestern State University, located in Natchitoches, Louisiana, plus one-year post graduate work in acting. He owned 54 acres of land next to Dugdemona Swamp. Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by his parents, Wilmer Jordan and Lavenia Williams; siblings, Arvil Ray Jordan, O.C. Jordan and Dorothy Ray. Survivors include a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Southern Funeral Home with Rev.
