Lots of changes resulted from the most recent election, and the outcomes support the oft-spoken exhortation, “Every vote counts.”
For the office of Governor, incumbent John Bel Edwards won by a thin margin of 51% with 774,476 votes, compared to his opponent Eddie Rispone’s 734,136 votes.
Kyle Ardoin was elected Secretary of State with 867,456 votes (59%), where as Gwen Collins-Greenup raked in 601,110 votes. For those wondering where our parish stood, 1,371 more voters from Winn Parish chose Rispone than Edwards, and Winn Parish overwhelmingly preferred Ardoin with 74% support.
