A report on the Kiwanis LaMissTenn District Convention held in Jackson, Ms the weekend of June 20 – 22 was given at
the July 7th Kiwanis club meeting by those members who attended. First to speak was President Steve Bates who talked about the keynote speaker, Steve Siemens, who is a Kiwanian and also a well-respected motivational speaker. His topic was the Pursuit of Excellence.
Josey Hemperley is a student at Lakeview High School. She is active in many extracurricular activities such as ROTC, FFA, 4-H, USC, FCA, BETA, Drill Team and Student Council. Even though she is active in these, she maintains a GPA of 4.0
History was made in Winnfield, Louisiana June 14, 2014 when black and white families descending from Amos McCarty who settled in the Sikes and Winnfield area held their first combined McCarty Family Reunion at the Civic Center on HWY 34
A cardiologist is probably not the type of doctor that you would expect to find in Winnfield, but the Winn Parish Medical Center has opened a new facility right here in town. Winn Parish Cardiology is a five-day a week office located on West Court Street in Winnfield. The cardiologist on staff is Dr. Deborah Cortlandt, who hails from the Midwest.
