Guest speaker Megan Crenshaw was introduced to the club by her grandfather, Kiwanian Bobby Jordan. Megan is the daughter of Laurinda and Curtis Crenshaw. She was a 2012 graduate of Winnfield Senior High School and received one
of the Kiwanis club Scholarships along with many other awards and scholarships.
Alaina Kelley was the lucky winner of the Winn Chamber of Commerce and Tourism’s Open House contest. The contest was entered by customers at local businesses (and members of the Chamber of Commerce) who filled out a ticket after each purchase was made on the night of Christmas Open House on Nov. 13
The safety-conscious citizens of Winn Parish scored a victory for the prevention of sports injury concussions with Pilot Club’s fundraiser “Fill The Helmet.” Brain Safety and Education is one of the key areas of concern for the world-wide Pilot International membership.

The Everitt S. Fick, District 8, Unit 9 American Legion Auxiliary met on Saturday, October 11. 2014. at 11:00 A.M. in the home of President Gayle Gilcrease. President Gilcrease called the meeting to order and members were led in Pledge of Allegiance and prayer by Vice President Joyce Walker.
New Kiwanis member Stacey Rachal spoke to the Kiwanis club Monday, Oct. 20, 2014 about DART (Domestic Abuse Resistance Team). She is the Winn Parish Rural Advocate with an office on the 2nd floor of the Health Unit. DART serves 7 parishes in north central Louisiana.
The Kisatchie Quilt Guild held it regular monthly meeting on October 16, 2014 at the First Assembly of God Church. President, Jessie Hand called the meeting to order with prayer by Patsy Beaubouef. Pledge of Allegiance was led by Dottie Richmond.
The Winnfield Kiwanis club held it’s 2014-15 Installation Banquet Monday, Oct. 13th at the First Presbyterian Church. President Steve Bates called the meeting to order. Patrick Askin led the Pledge of Allegiance, Lamar Tarver gave the invocation and Dr. Jerry Williams led in the Kiwanis defining statement. Bates welcomed everyone and we enjoyed a delicious meal catered by Linda Peavy of Jonesboro. After the meal Bates recognized the new members from the 2013-14 year - Jim Nicol, Pat Flowers, Jeremy Miller, Stacey Rachal, and Larry Bates. Lt. Governor Richard Rose of Division 11 was present to install the officers for the 2014-15 year.
