Mr. & Mrs. Charles Glynn Webster, of Atlanta, Louisiana, would like to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Bridget Diane, to Chance Tate Skinner, son of Mrs. Pamela Skinner, of Alexandria, Louisiana, and the late Mr. Robert William Skinner. The bride to be is a graduate of Winnfield Senior High School, and Louisiana Tech University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.

Senior Resource Representative

Matt Sutton, on the left, Senior Resource Representative for Plum Creek in the Winn District visited the Winnfield Rotary Club recently and gave an excellent presentation on Plum Creek’s presence in Louisiana and more specifically Winn Parish. Obviously, the timber industry is probably  our most valuable resource in Winn Parish. The company isamong the largest private landowners in Louisiana with 399,000 acres of forestland in 11 parishes. A good portion of  that is right here in our parish, which is centrally locatedand this is one of the reasons they have just built a new central facility in Joyce. Last year they planted more that 8 million seedlings in our state and they have been certified to meet the Sustainable Forestry Initiative Standard, a comprehensive forestry management program that combines sound business practices and environmental responsibility.  On the right, is Rotarian Ted Wold

Broomfield, Bares Exchange Wedding Vows

Katelyn AshleighBroomfield and Robert Wayne Bares Jr. were united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony on Saturday, the third of January at one o’clock in the afternoon at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Abbeville, Louisiana with Father Matthew Barzare officiating. Special music was provided by Tommy Guidry on the organ, Yang Yang Li playing violin, and vocalist Polly Martin.
