A Simple Question

By Thomas SowellIt
It is amazing how a simple question can cause a complex lie to collapse like a house of cards. The simple question was asked by Bill O'Reilly of the Fox News Channel, and it was addressed to two Democrats. He asked what has Hillary Clinton ever accomplished. The two Democrats immediately sidestepped the question and started reciting their talking points in favor of Hillary.

Healthy Lifestyles: Letting Go of Anger, Part III

So, you get angry and explode. Or maybe you get angry and hold it in for later. Or still, you may take everything in stride and it takes a lot to make you angry. All these are unhealthy means to handle anger. What happens when I get angry? Your heart rate, arterial tension, and testosterone production increases, cortisol (stress hormone) decreases, and the left hemisphere
of the brain become more stimulated.

The 'Disparate Impact' Racket

The U.S. Department of Justice issued two reports last week, both growing out of the Ferguson, Missouri shooting of Michael Brown. The first report, about "the shooting death of Michael Brown by Ferguson, Missouri police officer Darren Wilson" ought to be read by every American.

Pilgrim Reflections: “May We Never Forget

Woe to us if we do. This past week marked a highlight in my life as I pinned on the rank of full-bird colonel (0-6) as an Air Force  chaplain. Little did I realize  almost 35 years ago when I oined the military as a 1st  Lieutenant that this day wouldcome. But, the Lord opened  the door for this promotionand it’s definitely one I’ll not  take for granted. As I stood there during the ceremony looking out on fellowship airmen and soldiers— both active and retired—and a host of family and friends, my heart overflowed with joy and gratitude. And, it reminded  me again of the charge inGod’s Word: “To whom much is given, much is required” (Luke 12:48)

The Honesty Gap

There may be some poetic justice in the recent revelation that Hillary Clinton, who has made big noises about a "pay gap" between women and men, paid the women on her Senate staff just 72 percent of  what she paid the men.

Giuliani Versus Obama

The firestorm of denunciation of former New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani, for having said that he did not think Barack Obama loved America, is in one sense out of all proportion to that remark — especially at a time when there are much bigger issues, including wars raging, terrorist atrocities and a nuclear Iran on the horizon.

Rep. Ralph Abraham’s Column

It didn’t take long for me to we are here to help. learn that D.C. Mardi Gras week is so much more than banquets and beads. Hundreds of people from home travel to Washington that week for marathon meetings with their elected officials because they know that we’ll all be here. It’s a great opportunity for them to catch the entire delegation in one swing through the capital

Glib 'Happy Talk

When Alfred E. Neuman said "What me worry?" on the cover of Mad magazine, it was funny. But this message was not nearly as funny coming from President Barack Obama and his National Security Advisor, Susan Rice. In a musical comedy, it would be hilarious to have the president send out his "happy talk" message by someone whose credibility was already thoroughly discredited by her serial lies on television about the Benghazi terrorist attack in 2012.

Measles, Vaccines and Autism

The current controversy over whether parents should be forced to have their children vaccinated for measles is one of the painful signs of our times. Measles was virtually wiped out in the United States,  years ago. Why the resurgence of this disease now?
