Woe to us if we do. This past week marked a highlight in my life as I pinned on the rank of full-bird colonel (0-6) as an Air Force chaplain. Little did I realize almost 35 years ago when I oined the military as a 1st Lieutenant that this day wouldcome. But, the Lord opened the door for this promotionand it’s definitely one I’ll not take for granted.As I stood there during the ceremony looking out on fellowship airmen and soldiers— both active and retired—and a host of family and friends, my heart overflowed with joy and gratitude. And, it reminded me again of the charge inGod’s Word: “To whom much is given, much is required” (Luke 12:48)
