Emmy Elizabeth Bostick

Emmy Elizabeth Bostick passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston Texas. She was born Thursday, July 19, 2018 in Monroe Louisiana to her loving parents, Chase and Jourdan Jurek Bostick, her brother Denver, and her sister Mere Elle.

Emmy was born with a genetic liver disease (PFIC 2). God blessed Emmy with a new liver on April 1st, 2019. Emmy fought the good fight and kept a smile on her sweet face and in her heart through it all. She spoke louder than words without making a sound. Not only did Emmy touch our hearts but our souls as well. She was our little miracle.

Emmy absolutely loved to play with her brother and sister who will have precious memories of their sweet Emmy girl. She loved to play the guitar with her Dada and was his “gurl”. Dancing and cuddling with her momma was one of Emmy’s favorite things. What a blessing Emmy was to so many people.

Lawrence L. Lewis

Lawrence L. Lewis passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2020, peacefully, at home surrounded by his family.

Services will begin with a visitation at 1:30 pm, followed by a funeral at 2:30 pm, both on Wednesday January 8, 2020, held at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel, Haughton, with Lance Carpenter presiding. Interment will take place following the services, within Hill Crest Memorial Park.

Lawrence was born to Minnie Davis Lewis and Abe Lewis on Saturday, May 15, 1926 in Montgomery, Louisiana. He enjoyed gardening and was an avid fisherman. Lawrence was a working man spending time in both the oil field and pulpwood industry. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Carol Ann James

Mrs. Carol Ann James, age 56 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2020.

Born Monday, January 28, 1963 in Luling, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her father, Jeril Lawrence Landry; and sister, Lynn Landry.

Mrs. James was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Carol was always full of energy and smiling. She loved her husband and family. Her brother and sisters supported her throughout her battle with cancer. Lots of sister trips with love and laughter. Mama Avis lived with Brandon and Carol for several years before Carol got sick. Her husband Brandon said, if one sister cut their finger, they all wore a bandaid.

Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Avis Mary Landry; husband, Brandon James; brother, Jeril Landry, Jr. (Peggy); sisters, Valerie Hebert (Jerry), Theresa Weeks (Bruce), and Sharon Bourgeois (Lenny); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Carl Justin Greer

Mr. Carl Justin Greer, age 81 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019.

Born Saturday, January 1, 1938 in Basco, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his parents, Earl J. Greer and Frankie Hasley Greer.

Mr. Greer was an avid hunter, fisherman, a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of First Baptist Church of Winnfield.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 60 years, Beth Cockerham Greer; brother, Henry Greer and wife Judy of Quitman; special great-nephew, Ayden Greer; ninieceC , Connie SShackelford and husband Ricky; nephew, Curtis Greer and wife Kristi.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Southern Funeral Home with Rev. John Holland and Rev. Tom May officiating. Interment follow in Winnfield City Cemetery.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:00 AM until time of services.

In Memory of Willie Butler

Jimmy Faith Rudd

Mr. Jimmy Faith Rudd, age 86 of Dodson, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2019.

Born Monday, July 24, 1933 in Calvin, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his parents, John Pierce Rudd, Sr. and Gertrude Hodges Rudd; son, James Thomas Rudd; siblings, Anna Bell Taylor, J.D. Rudd and J.P. Rudd.

Mr. Rudd enjoyed hunting and fishing and worked for many years as a millwright for Willamette Industries. He also enjoyed visiting and telling stories with his friends and family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 62 years, Mona Rhymes Rudd; sons, Joseph Rudd and Tony Rudd; grandchildren, James Rudd, Jackson Rudd and Makennie Rudd; great-granddaughter, Rosalynn Rudd.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Rudd officiating. Interment followed in Bethlehem Cemetery, in Calvin.

Mrs. Barbara Ann Rawls Spence, age 82 of Dodson, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019.

Born Monday, March 15, 1937 in Memphis, Tennessee, she was preceded in death by her parents, Dovie Holland Rawls and Kenneth Rawls; husband, Horace Spence; and brother, Robert Rawls.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Mike Spence (Tonda), Buddy Spence (Robbie), Kenney Spence (Jill) and Melanie Taylor (Greg); seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 16, 2019, at Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and again on Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at Hilltop Community Church in Chatham, from 10:00 AM until time of services.

Mr. Kerry Glenn Williams, age 50 of Dodson, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019.

Born Monday, July 14, 1969 in Urania, Louisiana, he was considered an expert logger, having worked in the woods his entire life. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.

Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Basil Kay Williams and Jimmie Carlotta Underwood Williams; sister-in-law, Wendy Williams; and Teresa “T” Lemoine.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Heather Marie Williams; siblings, Trent Parker (Audery), Jerry Lynn Williams, Randy Dale Williams, Angie Chandler (Tommy), Liz Garner (Teddie Wayne), Linda Williams (Tony) and Tina Williams (Mark); grandchildren, Hayden, Brynnleigh and Graycee as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Alice Faye Hinson Vines

Alice Faye Hinson Vines, born Friday, March 4, 1949, met her Lord on Wednesday, December 4, 2019. She was loved and admired by all who knew her, a perfect example for Christ always.

Mrs. Vines was a longtime member of Hurricane Creek Baptist Church, where she served the Lord in many positions. More recently, she was a member of East Winnfield Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Candace Suzanne Vines; her parents Robert and Marie Hinson; and sister, Elaine Edwards.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Barron Vines; daughters, Melissa Coussan and husband Matthew and Rebekah Johns and husband Robert; grandchildren, Marian, Morgan, Matelyn, and Mason Coussan; brother, David Hinson; sister, Grace Hand; and a host of nieces and nephews.
