The Winnfield Police and Fire Departments, in conjunction with the Winn Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Winn Marshal’s Office, held a “Shop with a Cop” event on Sunday, Dec. 22.
It was not a very merry Christmas for two Dixie Medical Equipment deliverymen. While out on a delivery, a truck pulled out in front of the drivers on the 4-lane. The crash resulted in a cracked pelvic bone for the driver and a broke wrist for the passenger. This photo depicts the vehicle in the aftermath of the accident.
Over 50 people gathered at Louisian Seafood Unlimited on December 17, 2013 for a Pro-Life Townhall presented by Louisiana Seafood Unlimited and Louisiana Right to Life. After enjoying what one resident termed the best gumbo he ever had, those in attendance learned that, even though Louisiana is consistently ranked the most pro-life state in the nation, approximately 22 babies are aborted in Louisiana every day.

2013 has come to an end. At press time, there are just eleven days left in the year, and we find ourselves continually asking “where has the time gone?” Winn Parish has gone through some changes in the last 12 months. Some good, some not-so-good; such as the pendulum swings.

Winnfield law enforcement authorities are requesting the public’s assistance in locating a man missing from the Winnfield area. Thomas “Harry” Folden was last seen driving away from his brother’s resident on Thursday, Dec. 5. He was driving a blue 1999 Ford pick-up truck with a Louisiana license place number X760804.
The Winnfield City Council Dec. 20. met on Dec. 10 to discuss various new developments within the city and to recognize the retirement of two longtime city employees.
The Winnfield Christmas Parade, originally set for Dec. 6, was rescheduled two weeks ago due to looming weather
conditions. The parade will now be held this week, on Friday, Dec. 20. All of the scheduled events will stay the same, with the parade starting at 6:00 p.m. and line-up for the floats starting at 5:00 p.m.
