Good Things Happen in Small Towns

If you were to ask just about anyone living in Winn Parish or Natchitoches Parish what they know about Goldonna, they would most likely tell you there’s a little store in the center of that little village that people go to from just about anywhere for a great hamburger. It’s located just past the Winn Parish line but many that are from Goldonna will tell you that they live in Winn Parish being as Winnfield is closer than Natchitoches.

One thing about Winnfield, the holiday season is certainly a time of excitement and a lot of hard work being done by local businesses. The annual Christmas Open House brings out the locals as well as those from as far away as Texas or even a few towns over like Ruston.

You can pass through Main St. or any other street in the city and find ladies out painting festive scenes on the shop windows. You can find the City of Winnfield employees putting up Christmas lights and decorations. The Mayor’s office will be decorated to perfection. All of this is in preparation of Open House. The two days we all look forward to that set the tone for the holiday season.
