The Winnfield Fire Department would like to congratulate FF/OPR Benjamin “GABE” Murphy (top left), for passing his requirements for Fire Instructor 1. He recently passed both his practical and written exams. FF/OPR Matthew Harrell (in second picture with Assistant Fire Chief Cassidy Martin), was recently recognized by the Winnfield Fire Dept. for passing his Fire Instructor 1. He passed his practical and written exam. The WFD also recognized part-time fire fighter Joshua Colyer Jr. (in third picture with WFD Fire Chief Brian Montgomery), for successfully completing his skills test and written exam for his hazmat awareness certification through Louisiana Fire and Emergency Training Academy. Colyer plans to prepare for the next level of certification and achieve his hazmat operations certification and then on to certified fire fighter one level. Captain William Tibbitts, (pictured top right with Assistant Fire Chief Cassidy Martin), with the Leesville Fire Department was recognized and shown appreciation by the Winnfield Fire Department for being an example of professionalism and respect during their stay while fighting wildfires in Vernon Parish recently.
