The Winnfield Senior High School football senior class enjoyed their senior steak night this past Thursday. It is a time honored tradition where the seniors are shown appreciation for their hard work and dedication to the program. It is made possible through community volunteers and donations. The dinner was held at the Sheriff’s shooting range facility and we are greatly appreciative of the hospitality shown by Sheriff Cranford Jordan. A special thanks goes to Louisiana State Trooper and former Tiger, Chance Guilliams for spearheading the evening. We would also like to thank Jessie Hailey and Farm Bureau for their contributions to the event as well as the man of the hour, Jamie Maxwell for cooking all the delicious food. The highlight of the evening was getting to meet and listen to former WSHS and LSU All-American, Ricky Chatman, as well as a surprise visit from “Coach” Nancy Crain. Coach Crain said there was no way Ricky was going to be in town and she not see him! Mr. Chatman recalled his time at Winnfield and encouraged our seniors to be great men on and off the field as well as in the classroom. Thanks to all who had a hand in the Class of 2024 Winnfield Tiger’s senior steak night.
