Jessie Rae Hanson Kyle Hand

Jessie Rae Hanson Kyle Hand, age 81, passed away March 31, 2021 in Winnfield, LA. She was born on April 15, 1939 to Jesse B. Hanson and Mildred King Hanson. She grew up in Atlanta, LA, raised her children in Carthage, TX and passed her autumn years in Winnfield, LA. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and an avid quilter in the Kisatchie Quilt Guild. She will be remembered for her loving nature, and outstanding talent in her quilt shop and kitchen.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Delwin Kyle, the father of her children, brother, J.E. Hanson, and step daughter, Kayla Powell.

She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Joseph Eugene Hand Sr., sisters Ernestine Youngblood and Inez Hand, brother Jimmy Hanson, son Jeffery Kyle and wife Sharon of Gary, TX, daughter Penny Gibbs and husband Craig of Carthage, TX, adoring grandchildren Alicia Mims and husband Doug of Carthage, TX, Lindsey Bolton and husband David of Gary, TX, Brady Kyle of Gary, TX, and Lauren Monroe and husband Braden of Tyler, TX, darling great-grandchildren Tucker, Reid, and Rhyder Bolton, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

She is also survived by her stepsons Joseph Hand Jr. and wife Pam of Van, TX, and Michael Hand of Winnfield, LA, step grandchildren Heather Pilgrim, Holly Luttrull, Travis Hand, Riley Hand, Chris Hand, Clarissa Powell, and several step great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 2nd, in the Chapel of Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield, Louisiana with Reverend Joe Evans officiating.

Graveside services were at 3:00 p.m. in Old Center Cemetery in Tenaha, TX with Bro. Rick Linebarger officiating. Graveside services were under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home of Carthage, TX.
