The 2021 Calvin Cougar baseball team was well represented on this year’s Class C All-state baseball teams announced by the Louisiana Baseball Coaches Association and the Louisiana Sports Writers Association. Senior Anthony Adams, Junior Joseph Adams, Junior Wayne Curtis Huckaby and Junior Dylan Kyle all were selected to the squad.

These Cougars helped Calvin to a 14-4 season, a district 4-C Co-Championship and a regional playoff win against Kilbourne. Calvin competed in the state quarterfinals for the first time since 2009. Junior shortstop #5 Wayne Curtis Huckaby was awarded first team ALL-STATE honors by both associations as well as All-Region and District MVP. Huckaby led the team in runs scored, stolen bases and fewest strikeouts. Senior pitcher #12 Anthony Adams was also awarded first team all-state by the LBCA. Anthony was also a first team alldistrict selection for District 4-C. 3rd baseman Junior #8 Joseph Adams also made the first team all-state squad for the LBCA as well as allstate honorable mention on the LSWA team. Joseph was named to the first team all-district team for District 4-C.

Junior catcher #20 Dylan Kyle was a first team all-state LBCA selection and a LSWA honorable mention all-state winner. Dylan was also a first team all-district 4-C selection.

Congratulations to these Cougars and to the entire Calvin High School baseball team for their outstanding season.
