Friends and family of Steve Bartlett gathered together on May 26 to celebrate his retirement at the CLTCC Huey P. Long campus in Winnfield.

Bartlett had announced his retirement on April 6 at the regularly scheduled school board meeting, ending his 21-year tenure as superintendent, one of the longest in Louisiana.

“I am optimistic about my retirement and the eventual next phase of my life, but I am saddened about the departing from colleagues and friends that I have worked with so closely,” Bartlett said. “I retire at this time knowing that I have given my best to Winn Parish schools, its families, children, and staff. My tenure as an educator will forever be a significant part of who I am.”
