The WSHS Tiger powerlifters excelled at the 2-A State Powerlifting Meet held at ULM on March 18th.

The day started off shaky with two missed attempts on the squat for Travon Nichols but the experienced Junior fought through it to beat his Regional lift by 30 lbs on his last attempt of 460 lbs.

Nichols then went on to bench press 285 lbs and dead lift 555 lbs for a total of 1300 lbs to finish 3rd overall in the 198 lb division.

Sophomore, Alex Adams, had a stellar day with 3 personal bests of 490 lbs on squat, 300 lbs on bench press, and 525 lbs on dead lift for a total of 1315 lbs which was good enough for State Runner-Up in the 181 lb division.

WSH is proud of their commitment to the sport and are looking forward to seeing them represent WSH next year.
