Larry Jack Casey

Larry Jack Casey, age 88 of Conroe, Texas passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021.

Mr. Casey grew up on the family farm in Osceola, Iowa. He was educated in a one room school house until high school. Mr. Casey played basketball and baseball and upon graduation from Osceola High School was awarded a baseball scholarship to be a pitcher at Iowa State.

After his freshman year he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Following his military service, he worked in several industries before becoming a business owner in the Oil and Gas industry. In 2020 he had the honor of a large tug boat being named after him, the `Larry C’.

Mr. Casey was a big game hunter, went on 18 African safaris, hunted on 6 continents, and won numerous hunting awards, including the African Big 5 and the North American Sheep Grand Slam.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 23 years Ann Bandy Casey, son John, son-in-love Kevin Meine, daughter-in-love Karen Meine, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

The family received friends on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at Southern Funeral Home, from 10:00 AM until 10:40 AM.

Graveside services were held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at the Bandy family plot in the Atlanta Community Cemetery, Atlanta, Louisiana under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
