Mrs. Earlene Long Boyett, age 90 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021.

Born Thursday, April 17, 1930 in Winnfield, Louisiana, she was the last surviving charter member of The Family Church. She managed the Morgan and Lindsey store in Winnfield until it closed. Later, she worked at P&M Plumbing until retirement. She was a pastor’s wife and supported her husband’s ministry throughout northcentral Louisiana. She loved growing tropical house plants and over two hundred plants in her home.

Mrs. Boyett was preceded in death by her parents, Earl E. Long, Sr. and Edrye Simms Long; grandparents, Joe E. and Alice Smith Long and Holden and Jeannie Jeffus Simms; husband, Rev. Daniel George Boyett; son, Daniel Earl “Danny” Boyett; sisters, Virginia Long Rolen and Gracie Long Vargas.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Debra Boyett Gunter (George); granddaughter, Jennifer Gunter Bruce (Gary); greatgrandchildren, Kaitlyn Ford and Samuel Bruce; brother, Earl E. Long, Jr. (Peggy); brother-in-law, David Vargas. She is also survived and loved by her nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Boyett and her son Danny, who also recently passed away, were held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Corinth Tabernacle Cemetery with Reverends Joel Hines, H.W. Smith, Nathan Newton and Randy Boyett officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Serving the family as pallbearers were Stacy Long, Steven Long, Mack Martin, Marty Harrel, Brad Jordan, Jonathan Hill and Mark Green.
