Peggy Ann Cheatwood Wise

Ms. Peggy Ann Cheatwood Wise, age 72 of Saline, LA, died February 29, 2020. She was a devout follower of Jesus Christ and faithfully attended Carolina Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Saline High School. Ms. Wise was a loving mother and grandmother and will genuinely be missed by friends and family. She worked as a coach and educator for 38 years, until her retirement form Natchitoches Parish School System, primarily at Goldonna Elementary School. Her passion and dedication to the personal care and education of children was exemplary, and displayed in the countless hours that she personally spent with an untold number of of children. She was truly a champion of those in need. She spent much of her retirement years selflessly caring for many of the elderly in her community. Her absence from this Earth will truly be felt by many.

She is survived by her sons, Lee Wise, Jr. (Laurie), Michael Wise (Kerri); grandchildren, Whitney Wise, Jody Wise (Katelyn), Levi Wise, Kellyann Allen (Casey), Haley Bates, Lauren Wise, Landon Wise, Cambry Bates, Lawson Wise, Kylie Bates; great grandchildren, Audrey Woods, Samuel Wise; sisters, Lonnette Golden, Nancy Monk, Vickie Cheatwood; brother, Lonnie Cheatwood, Jr. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy Louise Wise; great grandson, Chandler Rhett Wise; parents, Lonnie and Dossie Louise (Caskey) Cheatwood, Sr.; sister, Laura Cheatwood Collinsworth.

Friends visited with the family from 5:00-9:00PM Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Old Saline Baptist Church near Saline, LA. Funeral services were held at the church 2:00PM Wednesday, March 4, 2020 with Bro. Ken Roberts and Bro. Shaun Garner officiating. Interment followed in the Old Saline Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro, LA.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations be made to HIS Mission Team via an account with Sabine State Bank. This is a very active Christian ministry in which she supported faithfully.
