SPED Supervisor’s Retirement Initiates Change In Leadership

An opening in Winn Parish School Board personnel has caused some shifting in educational leadership positions throughout the parish. Melissa Trammell’s upcoming retirement presented a vacancy in the role of Special Education Supervisor. The WPSB announced during the January meeting that four applicants were interviewing for the position. In the end, Winnfield Primary School Principal Candy Polk was given the position.

Mrs. Polk’s transition provided an opening at Winnfield Primary School, and Winnfield Middle School Assistant Principal Tiffany Martin accepted the position of WPS Principal.

At Winnfield Middle School, the Assistant Principal position will not be filled in the traditional meaning; however, WMS Athletic Director Brian Savell now also wears the hat of Administrative Assistant and will be filling in and carrying out Mrs.
