WSHS POWERLIFTING TEAM TAKES HOME 1ST PLACE, SECOND YEAR COMPETING

Atlanta High School started off the first day of school in 2020 with their monthly Back to School Celebration! Around 20 parents volunteered to be a part of the cheerful welcome for students. This month’s guest speaker for the Celebration Rally was Pastor Chad James of Atlanta Baptist Church. The Winnfield Senior High School Powerlifting Team traveled to Calvary Baptist High School this past Saturday and took home the 1 st place trophy to start the new year off on a positive note. Coach Danny Carroll said, “When you come to a meet like this and have this type of competition and come out on top, it’s a testament to the dedication this team has.” When the scores were processed, Winnfield edged out West Monroe High School for first place and Peabody High School placing third.
