Floyd Max Allen

Mr. Floyd Max Allen, age 81 of Atlanta, La passed away on Monday, October 21, 2019 at home with his children following a long illness.

Over the years he was employed at his Grandpa J P “Pete” Gresham’s pole yard, Olin Kraft, and retired with CCA. He loved to play the guitar and sing. He was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed collecting and trading baseball and football cards. His favorite baseball teams were the Boston Red Sox and, Houston Astros and LSU tigers. His favorite football teams were the LSU tigers and the New Orleans Saints. He loved his family and friends, loved the Lord, and was a member of the Atlanta Baptist Church in Atlanta, LA.

Born August 10,1938, in Atlanta, LA, Floyd was preceded in death by his parents Henry Earl and Ruby Gresham Allen, brothers Joe Dee and John Dale Allen, sister Kirsten Allen and grandson Steven Dale Maxwell.

Those left to cherish his memory are children, Lisa Lang (Joseph) of Atlanta, LA, Cathy Stuckey (Jody) of Choudrant, LA, Susan Carter (Richy) of Atlanta, LA, Gregory Allen (Candy) of Shreveport, LA and their mother, Shirley Allen; grandchildren, Julie Bishop (David), Jennifer Joyner (Adam), Kaleb Atkins, Matthew Allen (Katelyn), Christopher Allen, Samantha Durfee, Taylor Allen, Breanna Allen; great grandchildren, Preston Tullos, Brooke Tullos, Annalynn Bishop, Madison Parker, Jennalee Hall, Stryder Harris and Kaylix Harris. He also leaves behind one brother, Perry Allen of Lima, OH.

Graveside funeral services weree held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at the Atlanta Cemetery with Rev. Chad James officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Friends visited with the family on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at the Atlanta Baptist Church from 1:00 PM until 2:45 PM.

Serving as pallbearers were Joseph Lang, Jody Stuckey, Richy Carter, Kaleb Atkins, Matthew Allen, Christopher Allen and Ken Allen serving as honorary.
